"The characteristic of genuine heroism is its persistency. All men have wandering impulses, fits and starts of generosity. But when you have resolved to be great, abide by yourself, and do not try to reconcile yourself with the world. The heroic cannot be common, nor the common heroic."
I know your reading list is...quite long. Still, you need to move The Lovely Bones up and try to get it in before you see the movie. I can't wait to pick your brain on this one.
Did you and Eric sit down and discuss my eyebrows? You both keep commenting on the fact that I got them back...people make mistakes with tweezers! It happens! G
spam...bummer! one summer i lived off PB&J and spam so whenever i hear or read "spam" i think of that! but anyway, that's ok, i forgive u! i enjoy reading ur insights and experiencing ur cleverness! have u been seeing much of erik?
Yes! I love the end of the first 8 pages when they meet. He's so overwhelmed by her...and she plays hard to get. The beginning is a little confusing to get into...a little like when you have to get acclaimated to Shakespearean language...but I think I am getting it now. Very poetic. I really like the printing....must have been a fortune to publish. Also, I am getting the impression that Sam likens himself to the earth element...and she to fire???
BTW, it's not so much the text that stands out, as the revolution of the circle (#) within the circle...that's what I noticed first....to signal the 8 pages. I'm fuzzy on politics from the 60's, but I think I'll jump in better in the 70's & 80's. For obvious reasons.
Dude, I've been waiting for your review on Indy. I would have made a review myself but I left my feelings and thoughts about the movie on the theater floor in the form of vomit. You were right about George Lucas.
