Steeler!

Reliving Zeppelin, Queen & Free

a Classic Rock Show

A new group that emerged out of the love for that heavy rock sound of the early to mid 70's. A group consisting of four seasoned musicians that all felt that that feeling of those legendary performances had to be brought back to life.

Steeler brings you this stuff of legends in a non stop rock show that truely takes you on a ride. Dressed to match, well thought trough dynamics and show-elements that ensure a good time for all.

A true live experience!

Get a ticket, get on that bus and head on down to that concert hall, open field, smokey cellar or refurbished gymnasium and let yourself be grabbed by that nitty gritty sound of those early 70's heavy rockin' tunes. Steeler is right there waitin' for you to take you along on that magic carpet ride.

Heartfelt salutations from the boys from Steeler !

Listen to some of the tunes at the top of the page. They were recorded live in the studio. For these recordings (and for that matter, the complete approach to the band) we let ourselves be influenced by live versions of the songs we play. The way these guys back in in the days played their compositions live, that is the starting point of our versions.

Have fun!

At their first jam session they started playing a few tunes by Led Zeppelin, The Who and Free. And man! The sound just jumped off the walls. The room filled with an energy that could not be ignored. It was there and then that they decided that indeed, they would not ignore it and christened themselves as "Steeler ! , That 70's Rock Show"

Steeler is the brainchild of Luca Giordano. A guitarist who has been playing those subtle but heavy chords and pearcing leads that Steeler needs for that archetypical 70's sound, all his life. Together with Binky he plays in another group called The Rare Groove Orchestra. This band focuses on groove music and besides his heavy thunderous drumming, that grooving quality is unmistakable in Binky's influence in Steeler.

J.P. Hofman, a session player who was struttin' his stuff in quite a few different bands, came across an add that Luca had put out. He gave him a ring, they had a good chat and he was happy to have him. J.P. had the job! His feisty bassplaying fills the room in a way that is seldom heard anymore. He really is the right man for Steeler.

The last missing link was a lead vocalist. They found their long lost brother in an eager young singer called Marijn Geluk through some tunes he had published through this medium you have in front of you. He brought along a voice that could soar high above the band and growl out that hot blues&soul that was needed to thrill the marrow in your bones.

And it was with this formation that they went into their that first epic jamsession.

Let the adventure begin !
