Andrew Matecha - songwriter, singer, producer, synth, programming, recording, mixing, etc. etc.
Influences
groundbreaking work, especially in electronic-related genres... industrial, ebm, idm, trance... I take inspiration from nearly everything I listen to... needless to say , I don't listen to the radio very often...
New Track Online: Return To Zero - created on a Game Boy using tracking software LSDJ.
Further tracks are, as always, in the works.
Winter 2009: So, I'm moved into a new place, with my studio not set up. Will try to get some new material done up soon. At the moment I'm pretty tied up with a house that likes to have problems every couple weeks. Fun times! Regardless, ownage on the way. I remixed Prognosis (as FMTA) and that killer track will be popping up on their upcoming remix album. :)
August, 2008: iPhone/iPod Touch game "Tap Tap Revenge" (one of the most popular games on that platform with over 1 million installs) now features music by Matecha, a new song titled "Tap It Up", available exclusively in the game! The song won 2nd place in a competition among nearly 200 entries. If you've got an iPhone or iPod Touch, go into App Store today, grab the game if you haven't already, and play the song in-game! If you don't have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can download a copy of the song from that site, or simply click here for direct download.
Matecha is the currently-solo music project of Andrew Matecha, a musician from Vancouver, Canada, who produces material of an electronic-industrial style. The music of Matecha features rhythm-driven tunes with strong melody and very synth-heavy sounds. Andrew has been writing, programming and recording songs digitally since 2001, after building a strong foundation of musical theory through half a decade of Royal Conservatory piano training. Andrew is also a founder and member of the industrial band FMTA, also based out of Vancouver.
If you're interested in collaborating in some manner, message me, or email at andrew [at] matecha [dot] net.
I'm also in the heavy-electronic-industrial band FMTA, also based in Vancouver. Check out our website and our myspace profile.
I'll consider doing a remastered version, then. We were working on a heavier version back in 2006, but I kinda dropped out of the habit of writing and had trouble adapting the format of the song to the heavier sound. I should stick with the original shit, eh?
That is pretty sweet. He was quoting a lot of Herbie licks in his improv but did you see his touch? Perfect. Yeah that's the same software I've been messing around with forever and I've been wanting to do some stuff live with it! Thanks for sharing.
