My parrot, Rigel, takes up a great deal of my attention, but he's cute so its okay. This summer I ditched the car and bought a bike for commuting to and from school. I like scrapbooking and rubber stamping but never "have time" to do it anymore.
I read and watch science fiction, and I've seen pretty much anything you can name.
I bake some awesome cookies!
Dabbled a little in gardening, with minor success...okay at this point very little success. My yellow roses were beautiful and growing vibrantly until I left for 4 months. They didn't make it. Something about water...
I'm usually open to new hobbies, so tell me what you think is fun!
Music
I'm battle scarred, I am working oh so hard
To get back to who I used to be ~A Fine Frenzy "Near to You"
Jazz, alternative, selected country and classical, and pretty much anything that comes on a mix station. I don't like most rap or hip-hop, or angry white guy screaming music either. I don't like lyrics that specifically demean women, which isn't to say that no music can say negative things about a woman. Anyway, I love music, but I'm not an audiophile. I can't for my life remember band names, album names, or even song names. I'm not knee-deep in the history of a genre, although I do like to learn about them. I have problems retaining information, that's all. Its sad really.
Movies
I like horror movies, as long as it's done well. The Grudge, The Ring, The Mirror, The Village (yeah I actually liked that one) I didn't like things like Freddy vs Jason. It just wasn't scary. Romances are okay sometimes, I liked Hitch. "Girl movies" are also sometimes good, I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and liked it more than I expected to. Love all the Pixar movies, and the other studio...Dreamworks...most of those movies.
Madagascar... I like to move it move it. Only I really don't, because I can't dance worth shit, but those little things are so cute. I hate most sports movies. hates them.... I hated Requiem for a Dream. Alot. I probably should've hated The Libertine for similar reasons, but somehow I didn't. Go figure.
OK, you know what kind of movies I really like, give me all the Sci-Fi!! Serenity, Trek, I even liked Titan AE.
The world looks mighty good to me 'cause Tootsie Rolls are all I see Whatever it is I think I see Becomes a Tootsie Roll to me Tootsie Roll how I love your chocolaty chew Tootsie Roll I think I'm in love with you Whatever it is I think I see Becomes a Tootsie Roll to me.
Television
I wouldn't miss Battlestar Gallactica or Doctor Who for anything. I'm really do miss SG-1, but it was past its time. Eureka is another good one, a bit of a SF guilty pleasure.
Firefly was awesome and hopefully one day Joss will do more of it.
When I'm not listening to the radio (NPR), I watch channels like TLC, Discovery, History Channels, and Food Network, etc. I enjoy home improvement shows, like Trading Spaces and Clean Sweep. Also medical and human biology shows on the Discovery Channel. And cooking shows like "The Secret Life Of..." and Iron Chef America.
I can't stand Survivor because they shouldn't call it that unless your opponents actually die :)
Books
I Love to read a lot!
As you can tell there is a theme, I also like to read SF novels. My favorite book is The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. Of course, there is also Douglas Adams, Alastair Reynolds, Ben Bova, Jack McDevitt, Arthur C. Clarke and more. I spent the summer before high school reading Frank Herbert's Dune series and Clarke's RAMA series. Lavar Burton wrote a good one called Aftermath. Not SF, its about the US after a major quake in the midwest. I highly recommend a collection of short stories called Cosmic Cocktails by Denise Little, because short stories fit so much better in my "busy schedule" of screwing around on the internet.
Anything by Dean Koontz is awesome, go read Odd Thomas and the sequels, Forever Odd and Brother Odd.
When I was 12 I read Steven King's Insomnia. It gave me Insomnia, no kidding. It was the first adult reading level novel I'd ever read and I stayed up nights for a month to finish it. I recently re-read it, and 10 years later it still gives me chills.
I also enjoy Alternate History, but I can't remember any titles off the top of my head.
I will read the occasional trashy romance just for fun.
Hhhmmm, I will always recommend the biography Galileo's Daughter by Dava Sobel, which is a collection of letters between Galileo and one of his daughters. She was a nun, as was his other daughter. I also read Planets by Sobel , which was okay, but not as interesting.
-We have normality. I repeat, we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.
-You live and learn. At any rate, you live.
-There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
-Many men of course became extremely rich, but this was perfectly natural and nothing to be ashamed of because no one was really poor, at least no one worth speaking of.

I have a pencil that knows everything, but it won't help me with my homework
Who I'd like to meet: I'm here to meet people with interesting things to say, or new ideas. I prefer you have ideas that DON'T start with "whats the freakiest sexual thing you've done." That question tags you as automatically creepy. Loser.
I'm sorry I have to sound like a cranky hag and say this, but if you describe yourself as a "serious gamer" please stay far far away from my life. I don't need any more of that. WoW Widow No More!
What I'm really looking for are some people to hang out with here in San Angelo. Really, this place bores the hell out of me. And I have a lot of hell in me, just ask Amanda :D
I'm also looking for anybody who can amazingly remember me from any of the many grade schools I went to. Candi Dittavong, Melissa Mariscal, Meghan Johnson, Corinne Ruhnke, wow I spelled some of those way wrong... I love you guys, you brightened my little life.
Atheism
You can laugh at the silly superstitions of the religious, safe in the knowledge that we are only dust and lies. All that will be left of you after you die is a slow decay and some fading memories in the minds of your friends. Hope you're enjoying your life at the moment- there's nothing better to come.
You are one of the most balanced people around
Motivated and focused, you are good at getting what you want
You rule at success, but success doesn't rule you.
When it's playtime, you really know how to kick back
Whether it's hanging out with friends or doing something you love!
You live life to the fullest - encorporating the best of both worlds
yeah we finally agreed on something. tiger is ok. he looks normal today. we think maybe simon pissed it off and tiger happened to be the one who passed right after that.
ha it wont let me comment on tagged photos so :P i'm ok i guess. freaked out right now cuz we think tiger got stung by a super huge bee of some kind and his nose is all swollen and he looks miserable and he sneezed non stop for like more than 5 min.
annabelle is good. her birthday is next thursday so thats all she freakin talks about.
alan is ok. he's alan...... and ASHER is ok i guess. had a doc appoint yesterday and everything looks ok according to the doc so 11 more weeks to go!!!
Thank you Tanya. :) I'll be ok. I'm already feeling better. Just a matter of working through the pain. Timmy got his cable hooked up in his room. Now he is going to be almost permanently in there. Woohoo!
It wasn't for me. It was for the housemates who didn't pay rent then laughed at me because legally i can't do anything. I don't believe that free rent should include internet and cable. Hell hath no fury like a Kim scorned.
yeah she didn't give us a picture of the boy part. i was kinda saddened when i realized that. alan is glad tho cuz he doesn't want me showing off his son's penis.
if you haven't already, you NEED to watch the movie penelope. we just finished it and it was super good. alan didn't want to watch it at first but he liked it alot too.
Hahaha. It's from a song actually "I Touch Myself" by Divinyls. I usually put either the name of the song I am listening to or the artist for my mood. :)
