Born in 1983 to a trumpet player and a schoolteacher, Mathias grew up in an enormously musical environment, which from an early age on influenced him in the way he chose his life to be.
Throughout his career Mathias has worked with bands and artists such as Ninthe, Gordon, Tobias Regner, Drums United, Charlotte Coppola, Alias Grey, Cubop City BigBand, Angela Menso, Thom Revolver, Project:Mikka, Thorsten Loher, Agnes Lazar and many more.
He has played venues like Paradiso Melkweg Zebra Lounge Rain Nighttown, TV- and Radio performances (Raymann is laat, Radio 538...) and countless theaters and Festivals all over Europe including Bansko Jazz Festival - Bulgaria, Nisville Jazz Festival - Serbia, Eger Festival - Hungary, Grachtenfestival - Amsterdam
Mathias has studied with Gerwin Eisenhauer, Cyril Directie, Lucas van Merwijk, Marcel Serierse, Victor Oskam and Martijn Vink.
Private lessons as well as Workshops with such masters as Robin DiMaggio, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jack DeJohnette, Richard Bona, Zach Danziger, JoJo Mayer and Robbie Ameen he’s attended still remain sources of great inspiration to this day.
In 2006 he graduated Bachelor of Music.
Apart from his musical activities, Mathias is busy writing articles, CD reviews etc. for magazines such as Raveline, the world’s leading electronic music magazine.
Mathias is currently working and living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
