My interests run pretty far and wide: film, of course-and filmmaking. I've really gotten into studying art history lately, as well as different architectural styles. I always enjoy studying philosophy and history. And of course travel remains a life-long passion. I still play bass guitar, and study video art and new media theory.
I'm a bit of a technophile, too, so I try to keep up on all the latest toys and gadgets. Some of my favorite sites include:
RadioShack.com G4 The TWiT Netcast ScannerMaster Cobra Electronics RadioReference.com
I listen to a pretty wide range of music, but my favorite style is jazz, specifically the bop style and free/avant garde jazz. Favorite artists include John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Chico Hamilton, Sun Ra, Albert Ayler, Keith Jarrett.
I also have a passion for all kinds of classical music.
Most recently, I've started listening to a lot of trance from Europe. This is quickly becoming my favorite to listen to. iTunes radio has a great selection of trance stations.
Movies
Too many to name, but some of my all-time favorites include Citizen Kane, Detour, Breathless, Lawrence of Arabia, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Rules of the Game, Grand Illusion, Bicycle Thieves, Vertigo, Rashomon, Throne of Blood, Los Olvidados, The 400 Blows, 8 1/2, and Inland Empire.
I'm also a huge fan of the comedies of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, W.C. Fields, The Marx Bros., Laurel and Hardy, Jerry Lewis, etc.
Television
I don't watch much TV...in fact, since moving to New York, I don't have TV at all. I use online video for the few programs I am interested in catching up on. I mostly listen to podcasts.
Books
I mostly read history, including film, art, and general history. I also try to keep well read on film and critical theory.
A film enthusiast. I spend most of my time either making films, writing about film, or watching films.
When I'm not in the classroom, or behind a camera, or writing for my blog, I can usually be found in one of the projection rooms at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where I work projecting films for classes and trouble shooting tech issues. Previous jobs have included a long-term internship at Comcast Cable, where I worked in the production facility editing public service announcements for broadcast in the Baltimore-Washington market; production runner for ESPN and Turner Sports in Washington DC; video director for a fitness website; and most recently, a stint in retail doing sales at RadioShack.
In addition to my own films, my recent film projects have included a feature film, "The Adventures of Louanna Lee", which I directed in Baltimore this past summer for producer Lee Doll. I also directed Louanna Lee's music video for her song, "Spirit Leads Me", and worked with Louanna on a comedy short, "A Day at the Antique Shop", also produced by Lee Doll.
I've also acted in a number of films, most recently playing the role of Adam Andrews in Charles Tashiro's political satire, "USSA" (2009), and the lead role in the yet-to-be-released "The Toothfairies' Union", directed by Shelly Blake-Plock.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Media and Film from Towson University in Towson, Maryland, and am currently pursuing my Master's in Cinema Studies at New York University.
I've lived in Maryland all my life, but have just re-located to New York City. Quite a change from the small town I grew up in, but I've really enjoyed exploring the sights and sounds of New York.
I have a blog,The Art and Culture of Movies, where I write on a variety of topics relating to film history and theory.
If you'd care to check out some of my videos, I have a number of them uploaded to my Daily Motion account.

Who I'd like to meet:
Fellow writers, filmmakers and artists. I'm really interested in meeting anyone who shares some of my interests.

Between the library and Netflix I've seen a number of the Ford at Fox DVDs. I was a little disappointed that they didn't include the original Movietone soundtrack for "Four Sons" and don't quite understand why they didn't. "Tobacco Road" is a fascinating disaster and one of the worst films Ford ever made, and "When Willie Comes Marching Home" is equally perversely interesting -- Ford is trying to imitate Preston Sturges and can't pull it off. I'm told that "Pilgrimage" is the gem of the set but I haven't seen it yet.
Williamsburg isn't a bad deal given that it's right on the L line so you're in the East Village in two minutes. Ironically, it's one stop away from me and I've never been there. I really need to get out more.
Well, if you're going to be at NYU, you're going to want to live in my 'hood. Or possibly Brooklyn. The East Village (which is expensive) or Williamsburg in Brooklyn (which is pretty expensive too). If you need any help with eyes on the ground before you actually get up here, let me know.
Is "Sweet Smell of Success" neglected? I think most film buffs know how good it is. I think "The Last Detail" might qualify more for the "neglected masterpiece" title. I bought and watched it recently and waqs very surprised at how good it was. Ashby is a very neglected director -- "Shampoo" is terrific as well.

Why did "Tobacco Road" go so wrong? Two words: production code.
