Hi, I'm Matt Widgery, I head up an organisation called the 'GreenFilm Project' which in 2006 ran the 'World Environment Day GreenFilm Festival' in Stoke-on-Trent as part of UNEP's (United Nations Environment Programme's) 'World Environment Day' Celebrations.
GreenFilms can be described as any film with an environmental, ecological, or zoological theme. We showed films from every continent on Earth over the 3 days.
Photography is my other big love in life and this summer GreenFilm are launching Aim by Frame 2007 a photographic exhibition about the beauty of the natural world and the danger it faces. This will form part of the World Environment Day celebrations on June 5th. You can find out more about Aim by frame by visitng our website: www.aimbyframe2007.moonfruit.com
This year's event will raise money for Global Action Plan.
Trewin Restorick, Director of Global Action Plan, said, “Global Action Plan is thrilled to be selected as the beneficiary charity of Aim by Frame 2007. Photographs are an excellent way to illustrate the beauty and fragility of the planet. Our programmes help people make changes everyday that will lighten their footprint and help preserve this planet that inspires so many spectacular photographs. We encourage everyone to attend the exhibit.”
I'm also a performance poet. I have been doing gigs around London for the last couple of years.
You can read my poems at the site of my alterego, performance poet MJ Henry. www.mjhenry.moonfruit.com
I am particularly interested in finding filmmakers and photographers from all over the world, who have been working on environmental or ecological projects and would be interested in sharing this work with UK audiences.
Also anybody with green websites that can offer link space on their sites to promote future events please, please get in touch. The success of last year's film festival was entirely down to reciprocal link marketing and if I can avoid cutting down trees to make flyers, I will!
Venues! Do you have a space suitable to hold film screenings or maybe a photographic exhibition? We are not a rich organisation so Wembley Stadium/Alexander Palace need not apply but if you have an interesting or unusual location please let me know. Myspace is entirely new to me so please help make it a success by becomming a member of this network.
I encourage you to support the campaign to incorporate a comprehensive study of racism into the American academic system, and make it a prerequisite for graduation; by writing your local and state representatives, the dept. of education in your state, and also by writing to the Attorney General at the US Justice Department and President Barack Obama expressing your endorsement of this endeavor.

We be back.. arrh.. with a rather tasty gig..
The line up is likely to take the roof off Jamm with Speakers Corner Quartet at number one on the list. These guys have headlined the Jazz Cafe and opened for Herbie Hancock at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as working with some big names in hip hop.
In addition to this amazing headline, The Sound of Rum who are festival legends with lyricist Excentral Tempest at the helm, will also be on hand to build the vibes (Rob Da Bank is amongst there many fans). Plus Onyx Ashanti and Daisy Kelly Granger will add some serious funk and soul respectively.
In addition to the incredible live line up comes DJ support from the best around. DJ Snuff is a local hip hop legend, founder of first ‘Speakers Corner’ and then he English branch of the global hip hop movement ‘End of the Weak’. Another DJ who recently also re-launched a strand of a global network ‘Balkan Beats London’, DJ Malaka will be blending traditional folk from Eastern Europe with pounding dance music. Add Popcorn Charly and Drusus Germanicus to the line up and you have a funk fuelled, world eclectic vibe of top class music to take you into the early hours.
