whoa. I'm a huge fan of his music and actually own 4 of his cd's I had the pleasure of meeting him and listening to him play at the West County Mall around the Saint Louis, MO area about 3 years ago. I was so amazed at his sound that I bought the albums right there on the spot. I was wonderin why I hadn't heard anything new from him and just stumbled on the news report that he had died back in September. I always listen to his music when I'm working out at the gym. My prayers go out to his family.
I remembered Matt's performances out here in Escondido and had the honor of meeting him and talking to him several times. We occasionally talked on the phone and e-mailed each other. He was a fabulous musician and an even better human being. When I heard the news, I was devastated. My prayers go to Brenda and Matt's kids. He's with God now, but he will be sorely missed.
...you'll be missed more than you know. Thanks for being a great friend...and singing "My Guitar has a Scar", among other trivial things that made it all better.
