Just me.
Could do with a guitarist, bass player, drummer and a keyboard whizz to help turn 'em into something resembling proper songs!
I am open to offers. I've even got a band name - THE SALIENT BRAVES - dunno what it means, it's just been in my head for a while and sounds old school indie, it also conjures up red indian imagery, which is good.

Sounds Like
Amateurish, shambling, home made, lo-fi, bedroom recorded tunes. So...erm...you tell me.
I've been writing tunes for a fair while, but I've never had the bottle to form a band, play 'em live, or let anybody other than members of my immediate family even hear them - up untill now that is. Scared of failure I suppose. But I'm past caring now, they need an airing. People will either like 'em, or....they won't. Simple as.
The tunes I have uploaded onto this page are not full demos, but very basic demos - sketches that will hopefully one day be coloured in by a band playing real electric guitars and proper drums 'n that!
If any unsuspecting venue wants to take a chance on me and give me a gig, then I'd be ever so grateful. Anything considered, from the Albert Hall to Alisha's Attic (who was Alisha anyway?) weddings, funerals, barmitzvahs....anything.
Do bear in mind that I'm only able to play a karaoke style set to a backing track at this specific moment in time though, but please don't let that put you off.
BANGKOK: My most popular Arches/Ligers Lounge open mic night number in all it's poorly produced glory. A paen to the pleasures & pitfalls of the far east, and I'm not talking Great Yarmouth here folks.
GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT: If you can't serve the time then don't commit the crime.
THE GREAT UNWASHED: Agoraphobia is a crippling illness, both mentally and physically. I've seen it first hand and it's painful.
SOMEWHERE SORDID: This song like most of the ones I've written is open to interpretation, but I can reveal that there is a car keys in the middle of the coffee table wife swapping element to it, resulting in the pain and guilt that dabbling in such a practice no doubt entails.
LIGHT FROM THE SUN: Another song co-written with Tom Heeley. An upbeat anthem that would be number one in 23 different countries from 1st June untill 30th September if there was any justice in the world!
The newly reformed Sun and the Moon are doing an acoustic gig in Manchester on the 14th May at THE RETRO BAR Manchester. If you do not live local to Manchester and cannot pick tickets up from The Retro Bar, you can order tickets through Reet at scootusir@yahoo.co.uk
THE RETRO BAR 78 Sackville Street, Manchester, M1 3NJ Cost : £15
This is a great opportunity to see the band do their first gigs in and around Manchester since 1989 in intimate venues (110 capacity at The Retro & 300 capacity at L.G.M) and unplugged (you want to hear how these songs stand up played acoustically)
In addition (from the headphoned comfort of a net cafe), the songs are very charming and catchy. I saw on the Charlie Big Time page that you're listening to King of the Slums a lot. You're a man with taste! They were a fantastic band, and Charley Keigher is one of my favourite lyricists ever. Certainly in the top 3 with Johny Brown from Band of Holy Joy and Morrissey.
May be in touch shortly about gigs and stuff. Would like to hear your stuff live and/or recorded in full-blown technisound.
Cheers Matt, and thanks for being our friend. I haven't been able to hear your stuff yet (no speakers on work PC), but I'm expecting good things from someone with The Brilliant Corners heading up their list of influences.
Hiya Matt! Yeah I'm good thanks, a bit stressed out with my A Levels though lol. I'm getting there, hopefully A's and B's for me :) How are you? Still making your funky music? Love Lu xxx
cheers matt.i know what you mean about songs being done.its tricky. we have our ten songs in the final stages, ready for the album,'the tall stories of charlie big time'. have been strugling a bit to complete vocals due to asbos next door.had to put my home up for sale for my sanity and of course i cant sell because of the "crunch".looking forward to your tunes,as for gigs ..it would be great but we shy away from organising things at home,we like to travel away in search of a valuable 3 points!!
Broken Down Lorry have released their new album. Entitled 'No More Bridges Left To Burn', it contains ten songs and can be downloaded free from www. brokendownlorry. co. uk.
Songs from the album will be posted on the MySpace page shortly.

cant believe i missed the party of the century! I only just managed to drag me self to the match! What a result tho eh? I was that drugged up on lemsip, ibuprofen and parcetamol that I thought I was seeing things! Where did you end up then? MOTD was amazing!
Cheers mate! Hopefully we're better than last time!
You come down from the weekend yet? I'm still on a high! I'd better be able to get a ticket for the Chelsea match!
Ha! Ha! The Straight Leg celebration on Sunday was reyt funny! At last I scored! 4 in total and pulled off a couple of saves despite being fouled dozens of times and getting not one free kick! At least we won tho eh?
It always starts off small and grows. Many of my friends in the biz have started that way and eventually got signed like Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Greta. But it definitely is a process. Being in California many of my friends and family are in the music business so you get a glimpse and exposure to the workings. Did some background vocals here and there that was fun. But hang in there. It sounds like your weekend was balanced in the end. B
