Parthenon Huxley, Dots, Arrogance, The Move, DBs, Pete Townshend but mostly like Matt Barrett
Matt learned guitar from Wendal Post in 1967 in East Northport, LI when he was known as Matt Econopouly.(Mathios Economopoulos)
Matt moved to Athens, Greece in 1968 and began playing as Officer Henry with Tim Aquilina (drums) and Parthenon Huxley (guitar). Formed Greece's first punk group CC BLUESKING with Huxley, the Christ brothers on vocals and the Rodent Brothers (sax and drums), later joined by Johnny Vavoura (bass), Dennis Giambuso (Drums) and Mike Peslikes (keyboards).
Moved to America. Recorded the Ruse with Parthenon Huxley, Don Dixon, Mitch Easter, Chris Chamis and Zoe Lagergen. The song 6-pack was a regional hit and was later recorded by Don Dixon.
Started the Dads with Parthenon Huxley, Zoe Lagergren (bass) and Dr Scott Schwartzwelder (drums) playing original material that sounded like the Move on speed. Played 3 hour shows where everyone danced all night.
The Dads broke up and Matt started The Ruse with keyboardist Reynalds Smith, another friend from Greece and Charlie Shaw (drums) and orange person Devesh (bass). Toured with the Dots from NYC
Went to Greece in 82 and played in clubs in Athens and the island of Sifnos, returning in the winter to become a solo artist.
Recorded several songs with Leigh Sioris of the Dots, Charlie Ward (guitar), Rob Ladd (drums) with Wes Lachot at Overdub Lane and released the single Is This It/ Nothing At All To Write Home About.
Recorded the cassette album Price of Illusion with Paul Price in the early 90s and opened for just about everyone while setting the record for shows played at The Cave in Chapel Hill.
In 2000 recorded with all Greek-American rock band Helena Mericana with Leigh Sioris, Parthenon Huxley, Chris Chamis, Ted Zarris.

Hey Matt, Thanks again for the connection with Yvette. We've already started communicating like old friends. I wish I had known that you're in The Triangle. I just moved out of Raleigh this past January. Anyway, I still have many friends & relatives there, so who knows, maybe our paths will cross.
Geia sou Matt, August lazy days in empty Athens, your photo gallery reminded me of gooooooood oooooold days and jammings in Agia Paraskevi. Thanks a lot for the invitation! Kristi
