The singer and guitarist was born between the mountains and the sea, just outside picturesque Santa Barbara, California. It was constant inspiration that fueled Matt's desire to make it in the music business. His one-of-a-kind style reveals early influences of artists such as U2, Bob Marley, Neil Young, and the Police. More recently, he has been compared to Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and Jason Mraz. His clear, penetrating, and magnetic tenor voice captivates audiences that are enchanted by his songs. While working on his latest recording project with David McGuiness (long-time engineer for Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, authors of Time After Time and What if God Were One of Us?), Matt sounded better than ever, revealing a signature sound that has matured and grown stronger. His pop-culture style and tight, groove-oriented band also are influenced by veteran producer Lance Bendiksen, who has produced projects and live shows for Sony, Arista, and RCA. Now, this uniquely talented artist has set his sights on taking his new sound to a larger fan base. Currently playing to expanding audiences throughout the western U.S., Matt is drawing the attention of radio and recording executives with his upcoming release, Somewhere Down the Road. A typical ploy for a teenage boy? Not in this case – Matt was only five! He continued, "At eight, I was walking around with a boom box, singing along to my dad's favorite Cars' tape. By fifteen, I was borrowing my cousin's guitar so much that he finally just gave it to me." It was no surprise when Matt decided that music was his path and took the plunge as a full-time musician. Playing gigs week after week, and selling thousands of CDs to everyone from loyal fans to strangers on the street, he persisted in honing his craft and sharing his musical talent with others. In an ever-changing industry with fierce competition, Matt Clark has held his own and is looking forward to a bright future. It's clear that Matt is no ordinary recording artist.
