BIOGRAPHY:

Matteo Fraboni, drummer and composer, was born on oct. 15, 1983. He is a self–taught musician. He studied in Cuba, New York and Africa with great teachers like Changuito, Gene Jackson, Ari Hoening, Fabrizio Sferra, Dan Weiss, Nat Smith and griot Mamadou Diouf.
In Italy he studied “Composition and Arrangement” first at Conservatorio G.Rossini, than at Conservatorio G.B.Martini in Bologna.
He partecipated in severals festivals like: Pescara Jazz, Alexander Platz, Siena Jazz, Ancona Jazz, Festival delle Arti, Belfiore in Jazz, Pesaro Jazz, 7 giorni in Jazz, Bordighera Jazz, Faenza Jazz, The Hague Jazz etc..
He collaborated with important artists like Fabio Zeppetella, Aruan Ortiz, Franco D’Andrea, Reverend Lee Brown, Bruno Tommaso, Emilio Marinelli, Gabriele Pesaresi, Valerio Galavotti, Toni Maiello, Maurits Roes, Raphael Gualazzi, Stadio, Francesco di Giacomo, Simone La Maida, Paolo Ghetti, Dario Deidda, Marco Poeta, Paola Turci, Roberto Piermartire, Rosalba Lazzarotto, Roberto Zechini, Marco Di Meo, Giordano Pietroni, PFM, Andrea Solarino, Samuele Garofoli Roberto Gazzani, Agata Leanza, Michele Guidi, Simone Zanchini, Massimo Morganti,, Ensamble '88, Riccardo Burattini, Giovanni Maier, Stefano Battaglia, George Garzone, Riccardo Del Fra and many others.

Da soprassedere perché troppo vicino ai modelli americani (Mush, Anticon, Plug Research) e/o berlinesi (Scape, Morr)? Troppo facile. Più gratificante è cercare le citazioni letterarie sparse (Lee Masters e Carver, oltre alla napoleonica corrispondenza d’amorosi sensi del titolo), crogiolarsi negli accenti patetici che lo costellano senza tregua, cogliere i numerosi intarsi naif dei fin troppo scriccioli brani, bearsi delle illogicità nelle introflesse strutture-canzone. .. .. ..

A new day begins with the rising of the sun, As its bright rays shine forth In vibrant bursts of light And illuminate over the world.
As the world begins to wake, Everything begins to function in harmony, With a steady rhythm and even pitch Smoothly guiding the melody of events That makes a symphony of life.
As the day progresses, This symphony takes on new dimensions and tones, And is thereby infused with new meaning.
At some point the tune reaches its crescendo, Playing loudly and vivaciously for all to take part In the melodious song.
The day ends with the setting of the sun, As it sinks in to the horizon, Leaving a palette of effervescent colors as residue.
All the while the melody begins to die down, Sinking its tone to a quiet stillness which Ultimately leads way to the song of the very next day.
