My parents raised me on 60s Rock-n-Roll (Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys). We would all pile in the truck and sing songs. As a teen, I listened to 80s Modern Rock (Depeche Mode, New Order, Smiths, REM) and 90s UK Rock (Oasis, Radiohead, Stone Roses, Travis). In my college years I picked up guitar, but I didn't really practice or explore any songwriting. Only in the last three years have I discovered how fun it is to write and play music. Although playing in Case of the Mondays (myspace.com/justrocks) is my top musical priority, the acoustic thing is another outlet for me when the rest of the band and I can't meet up. So, here's some songs... simple stuff that hopefully inspires you in some way, or at the very least, makes you want to sing along.

Dang, It sounds like you already have your two-miler locked down! =D I am excited to see how Cody's running career pans out for him. =) Whens the next meet? Any chance there is one next weekened? (I am rolling into finals week as we speak... )
I was just talking about you to my parents the other day...I had eavesdropped on Jared's page and saw that you broke 1:14:00 in the half! That's awesome! My dad said that the fastest he had ever ran one was 1:27 or something like that.
Thanks for the comment about the music, too! I decided to finally put effort into truly recording and mixing my songs [to the best of my ability], and "Penny, Move The Curtain" was the first one I did that way. I am so happy with the results that I have been on a little recording high, bouncing from song to song.
I do miss being able to go to your shows, that's for certain! Hows the school year been? The band?
im glad you are doing well! Too bad i was not at the recital, that would have been cool. I still need to catch a show of yours, i cant believe i have not and thats HORRIBLE!
Im glad BOHS is doing well, and im sorry your freshmen have bad music taste hahahah. must suck.
Its been way too long! i need to keep in touch more, i suck at that....sorry. i will try to break that habbit. hope to hear from you soon!
I would love to...but it seems like everyday I have school or work right around noon, or just after. Maybe we could get something after practice one day? Mondays I get out of my last class at 7:00, Tuesdays-Thursdays I'm free pretty much any time after 2:30, And Saturdays-Sundays I get off work at 4:00. Sorry my afternoon schedule is so complicated!
Oh that is great to hear about your race! :) I bet that was a fun race and it sounds like the weather wasn't too bad that morning either. The life of Kush has been going alright. I definitely want to come out to practice to see everyone. I'll try for this week!
Great show, Mr Mattern! I like the newer stuff! It was really good to see you and I'm sure your half will go great tomorrow. I'll be looking for your name in the results :)
