New England native, Musician/Composer/Songwriter, Matt Flaherty, has earned a reputation for being a guitarist to watch out for. Matt’s music career started when he was in elementary school where he picked up the trumpet. When Matt turned 12, he started playing guitar, taking lessons from local instructors. After several years of success with the guitar, Matt decided to go to college for a degree in music performance in jazz guitar. During these years he studied with some of New York City’s finest musicians. He studied with Jamie Begian, winner of the "Charlie Parker Award," presented by the prestigious BMI Jazz Composers Workshop for his composition, ”Fuzzy Math.” He also studied guitar with Chris Morrison, who has played with acts such as John Patitucci, and Richie Cole.
In 2005, he graduated from Western Connecticut State University, earning himself a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz guitar performance. Since then Matt has been teaching in several music studio’s teaching guitar and bass. He has also been playing regular gigs throughout the east coast, playing at venue’s such as Toads Place, The Lion’s Den, Sugarloaf Ski Resort, and Sunday River Ski Resort. Matt has played with several well-known acts such as Dave Grippo ( Phish, Trey Anastasio Band ), Russ Lawton ( Trey Anastasio Band ), Jen Durkin ( east coast funk band Deep Banana Blackout ), Vinny Idol (producer of super hip-hop group D-Block), and Mystic Bowie ( Tuff Gong International recording artist ). Matt Flaherty expects these accomplishments to be only the beginning of a great career in music.
The Matt Flaherty Trio consists of Matt Flaherty on guitar, Matt Schmidt on bass, Ryan Decker on drums, and Mirco Altenbach on sax.

Bass Player magazine says the best value award goes to squier. whats going on buddy you gotta let me know if your coming to the east anytime soon. We can enjoy a day at yankee stadium maybe being that it will be shutdown next year. I still wanna get out there too.
