"A message to those who arrive at live shows just in time for the headline act: one day you'll turn up when the doors open and maybe discover some hidden gem lurking at the bottom of the bill whose existence you were completely oblivious to mere minutes beforehand. One such example: Matt Fleetwood. His stage persona may seem shy and unassuming, but that's just the kind of guy he is. Let him loose near a guitar and a microphone, though, and he turns into alter ego TheCusp, a delay-infused melee of Josh Pearson’s scorched noise and Thom Yorke squabbling with Guy Garvey over inner city one-way systems; his howls transfixing those who've made the effort to venture in early." Dom Gourlay; Drowned In Sound
@ Leeds Library
"Matt Fleetwood certainly endears himself to me by
opening his set with a cover of Cardiacs' 'Billion'.
He's very Thom Yorke, no bad thing when that
makes for some powerful singing and battering
away at his acoustic guitar, plus some fun solos. He
throws in a bit of intricacy here and there, but for the
most part this is robust fare without frills."
Rob Wright; Sandman Magazine
Hello and Welcome!
(sit back, make yourself comfortable)
My name is Matt(hew) Fleetwood and this is my band TheCusp.
TheCusp is not me, nor is it you.
However TheCusp is currently in an evolutionary state. It is uncertain to us what TheCusp may evolve into, but it's travelling somewhere and expanding beyond our vision. When our eyes witness this 'change' you'll most certainly be informed.
We'd like to apologise for being vague at this stage, but that's just the way we are.
I hope you're having fun in Florida. I miss you lots! I'll be living in London over summer so look for gigs you want to go to and then come visit me? Yeah! xxx

Hey man. Nice work on the reviews, especially drowned in sound! Sorry you couldn't make it last night, room was a bit empty, but upon hearing the headline band we understood why. See you soon.
How did YOUR set go? Shame they didnt get to see you play.
Sounds like the Twilight Sad put on a good show. I've only been to the Social a few times but I dont think its the best place for loud gigs sound-wise really is it...
I forgot about Always Waiting For! Yeah, was ace to hear that for the first time also! Had a few drinks with the band which was cool....so far the only gig they've got lined up is one in Russia!! They got a very good reception in London, so hopefully there'll be more gigs on the way soon...there better be!
Good luck with that gig tomorrow! You lucky bastard! I'm jealous! :-p
You're supporting the Twilight Sad!!!!!!!!!!!!! You jammy bugger! :-) That is fecking awesome!!! I love the band but alas have not yet seen them live. Apparently they are supposed to be mega LOUD live!
The Six By Seven gig was possibly my most favourite of theirs. Loud as fuck and a brill setlist. james even got his sax out. Was great to finally get to hear Get A Real tattoo and Beautiful Shape live! You can see the full setlist on the forum.
Matt, you are mental. I saw the comment on the Default This page. I liked it! You DEFINITELY are invited and you should definitely come! Check out the bands on the myspace.

Yeah man! What happened to Mr Corgan at the Pumpkins gig..? Has he given an explanation for his sharp exit yet? To be honest though, i dont blame him, the crowd were shit and the sound was poor. What a rockstar! This is how i like my rockstars to behave. I was gutted though as i'd of loved to of heard some stuff from Gish and more from Siamese Dream. Wait 'till i see him, i'm gonna give him a right telling off... x
