My name is Matt Glickstein and I'm a local songwriter and composer. I graduated from the University of Redlands in 2006 with a degree in music composition. For my senior project, I wrote and directed a musical, "Freshman Follies". After graduating, I worked for Don Grady (a prolific Disney composer) for one year, helping him produce and edit the Princess Birthday Album. I currently reside on the island of Lanai. My latest song is entitled "I Do", and it was written for my wedding next year.
In 2006, I wrote, produced and recorded "Set the Dog Free", which was released on iTunes, selling over 1,000 copies.
50 percent goes to Dog's defense fund! Help him out!
All songs on this site are written by me, and there are various different performers(including myself). I like to write in many different styles, but I'd say my main influences have been Elton John, the Beatles, Billy Joel, and Randy Newman. I've written a few choral works (see my website: Fanfare for America, Ave Maria, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday). I also wrote the music to an original musical, Freshman Follies, which was successfully performed by the University of Redlands from February 16th-18th, 2006. On three performances, a profit was made, and the show was enthusiastically received. One of my long term goals is to write Broadway musicals, so hopefully, Freshman Follies will get me started.
If I'm very lucky, you have read this much and you are a producer or publisher or someone in the music business. If you like what you hear, or even if you don't, PLEASE contact me. Any feedback or advice would be much appreciated. I'm just looking for anything to get me started in this tough business.
