here's the deal: i have a band called the ascetic junkies with the lovely kali giaritta, and we recently moved it to portland, oregon to try the west coast on for size. the aj's are a folk/indie band currently consisting of me on guitar, vox, and other things, kali on vox and percussion, and a banjo/keyboard player, a bass player, and a drummer. and for those of you with a tear welling up thinking "but what about your songs?", we do my songs (including versions of kansas road trip and a protest song) and kali's songs. check us out - i give you a 97.5% guarantee that you'll love us.
Hello Two new tracks in our player ("swell" and "doledrum") , from our next album available on Deadbees Records at the end of the year. Come lend an ear if you'd like. Thanks.
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella

I was just thinking...(this would've been a better idea when I was still in school, but it could still help you out.) When I was at Colby-Sawyer College, I was a radio DJ and they had this gig called Quad Jam that they did every spring, where they would invite bands to come up and play, there'd be free t-shirts that they put your band and all the other visiting bands names on, and you'd get to sell your band's CDs and stickers and whatnot while getting your name out there for new listeners.
So if you wanted I could get you in touch with some of my buddies who are running it, and the Station advisor, because they might be having a Quad Jam in the fall as well this year. Sorry this is so long, I just thought I'd send you a note in case you're interested. I don't know the details about payment or anything, but I know that at least it would be good exposure for your band. Hope you're having a good summer!
When you get a chance, I'd love for you to check out my first U.S. single release, called "Jesse." You can buy it on iTunes and in music stores or hear it now on my myspace page or my website, www.ivrilider.com/english.
I really hope you enjoy it, and if so, please tell your friends about it.
