As a professional singer/songwriter, guitarist, and educator, Matt Heinecke has been surrounded by music for most of his life. A native of Coronado, California, Matt began learning guitar at the age of eight. Growing up, he primarily focused on jazz, but has since studied a gamut of styles, ranging from bluegrass to classical to flamenco.
Matt is a graduate of the University of Southern California's prestigious Thornton School of Music. There he studied both jazz and classical guitar, which challenged him to pursue a style all his own.
His debut CD, Coming Home (2001), introduced us to standout songs such as "Falling" and the title track "Coming Home", which featured Matt's diverse musical and lyrical approach to songwriting. Matt spent several years extensively playing the Los Angeles club circuit at such nationally renowned venues as Genghis Cohen and The Mint while sharing the stage with some of L.A.'s most recognized performers. In 2003, Matt took the next step in his musical journey by relocating to Nashville, Tennessee.
