From the first strum of the guitar, the first kick of the drum, and the first note softly sung, you are invited to join the new atmosphere. A mood instantly envelopes the room, conversations slow, pool ques stall, and eyes turn towards the stage. There's something so full and thick about the sound, and you cant help but listen to every part of it in full detail. You're not just out on the town to get pissed and listen to music anymore, you're drawn in by the honest songwriting and smooth melodies. Every song, one after another, falls across the stage and into your ears, and your heart listens. You find your hopes and loves and failings presented in song by people you've never met. Some how you never got to let it out, but it's all there before you now. All the fear, the sorrow, the anger, the attractions, the energy..... everything you couldn't think to say, is being explored and shared with everyone in the room.
When you experience Matthew Colin, you're confronted and comforted all at the same time.
Matthew Colin (Palmer) has been active in the Australian music scene for over 10 years, from coordinating and performing at huge 16 band charity events at the Brisbane City Hall, tour managing bands across the east coast, to winning a Music Oz award in ‘06 for the single from his album ‘Soundtrack The Distance’ released under former stage name Dextors Conscience. Now having given away the band experience, Matthew Colin reverts back to the core of what every artist should be; a good songwriter. On the stage, he fronts with his duo of telecaster and maton, accompanied by faithful comrade ‘the sparrow’ on drums and banjo. Having had his hand in nearly all aspects of the business Matthew shows a genuine hard earned confidence and high caliber performance that most local artists are still trying to find.
