Matthew Dean Herman is "a mixture of Neil Young and a toned-down version of Tom Waits. He refined his guitar skills throughout his adolescence and began seriously writing songs in his mid-twenties, drawing inspiration from the classic country and Southern rock of his youth, and from contemporary alternative bands like The Hold Steady and My Morning Jacket."
"Blackbird is a country-infused blend of rock songs about beer, fishing, run-ins with the law, and, predominantly, love gone wrong."

Sorry could only stay for the first set, had to go strike the Anchorage Wine and Food Festival. You were so good and I am so tired. Great show, I'll try to catch more at the next one.

Matt...need to buy a copy of your CD. Will you have some at work? Saturday...may be a possibility at the Taproot. Hopefully I can pull it off, maybe get a sitter and bring the wife.
I am SO proud of you matt. I wish I could have been at the release party. I'm thinking about maybe taking a long overdue trip up to Alaska this summer to see all you guys, so maybe I will get to hear you play? I better get a copy of that CD! ;)
I won't be able to make the show, work gets in the way sometimes but I did pass it on. You sound great and I hope you kept all your toes, publicity can be a cruel bedfellow. Even if you lost one or two digits I'd still say it was worth it. Who looks at toes anyway.
Hi Matt! My friends own Stage Left and I was telling them about your music today at their store! They are going to come out on the 13th. Be safe at work... be nice to my Jeremiah. :)
