Matthew has been studying, writing and performing
with the guitar for over 25 years.
He has been teaching Improvisation, Theory and Technique
in a variety of styles for over a decade.
He spent much of his childhood in new Orleans, where
he was deeply influenced by that city's rich musical heritage.
At The University of New Orleans,
he was fortunate enough to study with Jazz patriarch
Ellis Marsallis, and guitarist Steve Masakowski who helped shape
his approach to jazz and improvisation in general.
Matthew has been living in the greater Boston area
since 1995, where he performs regularly, and maintains a
brisk teaching schedule.
