>>> With the same musical knowledge as an oil can, Matthew Fogle spontaneously started writing rock songs in the autumn of 1996. What resulted was a cassette tape (yes, a cassette tape) full of melodies - some good, some not so good. But that tape became a catalyst for a future songwriter and performer, and inspired a once young musician to buy his first acoustic guitar for two genuine reasons: to create, and to inspire.
Fast-forward 13 years (and I mean fast-forward!). Now, Matthew has played in hundreds of shows, continues to write music, and feels that life experience is the fuel for good tunes. After playing in bands for ten years, he decided to head a solo project in 2007 entitled “Matthew Fogle: On the Brink," which gained some nice exposure in the Bardstown & Louisville, KY area.
In 2009, with confidence and a major leap of faith, Matthew decided to enter into the Christian rock realm (but still plays all of his older originals upon request). The love for writing, and the music, has tripled since the move. A 5-track Christian rock EP is currently in the works, with a tentative release set for January 2010. God and music are now at the center of Matthew’s life, and he has no doubt that his Creator was somewhere in the winds, singing melodies into his ear way back in 1996. <<<
