"Matthew is a young man who has a warm and mature tone which betrays his tender age. Staying true to his convictions, musically and spiritually in a world where it would be easier to run with the pack, is a bold and beautiful thing. I hope that as people discover Matthew's music and the message that it carries, that he will also make great personal discoveries along the way. I wish Matthew the very best on this his maiden voyage." Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick - from the band Incognito
I have never made any secret about enjoying religion. And I've certainly never made any secret about enjoying singing. So the fact that I've been able to spend a lot of time putting the two together has been as source of unending joy for me. I enjoy singing hymns, the majestic music that exalts Jesus and raises our sights and our spirits. I also enjoy singing the spirituals that give voice to our sorrow and help us ease those sorrows. When I was growing up in Kent, England, my life was influenced greatly by gospel music. We always sang hymns in our church but at home, the family singing consisted mainly of gospel songs. Although gospel songs were always reverential, they had a lot more happiness to them and certainly a lot more rhythm too. The old and new gospel songs on my CD album are some of my favourites and I hope you will enjoy them.
Matthew Lombart...
I really, seriously like what you have written in the "About Matthew Lombart" section. I had a similar raising with hymns and gospel music in a fairly musical family. It will never leave me as it is deeply ingrained into who I am. :) I am interested in more info about your CD. Please drop a note if you get a spare minute. (bluegrassy1 from youtube)
