About me:

Things You Might Be Interested In Knowing About Matthew Paul Turner...Then Again You May Not! !
My full name is Matthew Paul Turner My dad called me "Buck" when I was younger, and in college I went through a stage when I wanted to be called "thew," which is the other half of Matthew--Every other Matthew I knew was called "Matt," and I wanted to be different. Sadly, it never stuck. I married a beautiful woman named Jessica Nicole Turner. She is always the best part of my day.

Name all of the books you have written for TH1NK books.Everything You Need to Know Before College; What You Didn't Learn From Your Parents About Sex: A Guide to A Touchy Subject; What You Didn't Learn From Your Parents About Christianity: A Guide to A Spirited Subject; What You Didn't Learn From Your Parents About Money: A Guide to A Pricey Subject; What You Didn't Learn From Your Parents About Politics: A Guide to A Polarizing Subject
Any other books? The Christian Culture Survival Guide (Relevant); The Coffeehouse Gospel (Relevant); Provocative Faith: Walking Away From Ordinary (Revell); Mind Games: Advice, Stories, and Truth for Thinking Free (Tyndale); Beatitude: Relearning Jesus From Truth, Contradiction, and a Folded Dollar Bill (Revell); Chronicles of the New Rebellion (Nelson)
What did you do before you began writing full time?Well, I was the editor for a magazine called CCM (it covered Christian music) for two-and-a-half years. Before that, I was the Music and Entertainment Editor for Crosswalk.com. And before that, I ran a faith-based coffeehouse in Northern Virginia called Jammin' Java. You probably wouldn't be interested in anything prior to Jammin' Java.
What was your best moment working at CCM Magazine?I got to interview Amy Grant for a cover story--that was a blast. And, I interviewed Mandy Moore for A Walk to Remember, too--I was a horrible interviewer, but she was very nice and just as pretty in person as she is on the big screen.
What was your worst moment working at CCM magazine?Umm, I'll pass on answering that question. The Christian music industry can be a little like The Sopranos.
Tell us about one of your favorite places in the world.I love Budapest, Hungary. It's a beautiful historic city. The bars, clubs, stores and coffee shops are quaint and mysterious. The people are kind and sincere. And the architecture is some of the most breathtaking in the world. I hope to take my wife there someday.
What is something you often crave?I grew up in Maryland, so I LOVE Maryland blue crabs. So every summer I crave steamed crabs. For some reason, Nashville can never get them right. Oh, and if you haven't tried Old Bay crab seasoning, I'm not sure you've truely lived.
If you were standed on an island and you could only take three thing to read, what would they be?New Living Translation of the Bible, The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and anthing by C.S. Lewis or G.K. Chesterton
Tell us something about your wife.My wife Jessica is extremely talented. Though only twenty-three, she recently won five awards for her work as a marketer/publicist for Alive Hospice. She developed a campaign to celebrate the Nashville's headquarters 30th anniversary. The agency she works for, Lovell Communications, can be found on the web at Lovell.com.
Can you remember one bad day? When I was twenty-four, I started losing my hair. [Yeah, my hairline began making a beeline for my butt.] But it was my barber who told me the good news that I was beginning to lose it in the back, too. One day out of the blue, she just blurted out to me as if we were having a conversation about the weather. “Matt, you’re really beginning to get thin back here,” she said. How do you respond to that? “YES! Thank you so much for letting me know!?!” Yeah, my ego felt good that day.
Who is your celebrity look-alike?For most of my life I’ve been told I look just like Matthew Broderick. In fact, I got mistaken for him at a movie theatre once. [Yes, I even signed an autograph.] Honestly, I don’t see the resemblance as much as others do.
Tell us about a memorable college experience.I almost got kicked out of Belmont University's "Music Business" program because I said hello to Amy Grant at a celebrity fundraiser. But even if I had gotten kicked out, meeting Amy, one of the sweetest women in the world, was a dream come true for me back then.
What is a favorite God moment?Anytime it's just us talking. My personal conversations with God are always the most intimate spiritual moments for me.

Hey,
We need your help! We just found out that we are very close to getting into the top 5 for the Christian Country Music Fans Choice awards... AKA "AGOPE FEST 07". You may have voted in the first round, but every round the votes start over. We are asking you for help. Please go to www.kingcountry.org and follow the link to AGOPE FEST. Once you are on the page you can register to vote by clicking the link. You will have to input your email address and it will send you a link to vote in your email. We pray you will vote and let us know if you do so we can send you a personal thank you. Remember that you must fill out the entire ballot for your vote to count. We are nominated for Band and Group of the year.
If you feel like you still want to help us even more there is one more thing that you can do. We have made it to the final round in a contest sponsored by American Idol. It is a Faith based competition that is also based on listener votes. You can go to www.idolunderground.com/haddixmusic. If you scroll down on the page you will see the link for "BIG PUSH 2" competition. You must register to vote, but the process only takes about 3 minutes. You can vote every 24 hrs if you want.
Thank you so much for all of you help in advance and we hope that you are blessed abundantly this year to do the Lord's work.

Hey!
Hope your weekend is going well. We just wanted to pass on a little bit of information that might help you with your Christian walk. Movies are a thing a lot of people like to watch! We love to. The only problem is there are a lot of movies that are not really appropriate for your Family, youth groups, or just for yourself! We found a dvd player that will actually take out all the bad content in the movie so you can still watch the movie without all the crap. Just something that might help you out with everyday life! Click below to check it out. Have a great day.

..

God Bless You!
