“… bittersweet hooks and wistful lead vocals make for a compelling listen. These are songs whose strengths sneak up on you. Agile indie labels should call.” - Music Connection Matthew's company, Fader 5 Music, provides "exceptional music for film and television"

"With a title hinting at longing borne within, Puckett's (Goodbye) EP proffers a
quiet melancholic beauty. His voice reflects a downward gaze, but the
melodies imply upturned optimism. Likewise, his cover of the
Psychedelic Furs' "The Ghost in You" transforms the eerie original
into a hard-to-resist embrace."
-- Performing Songwriter, December 2008
"Matthew Puckett's greatest strength as a songwriter is that in a single phrase he can sum up what's wrong and what's right…and make them both sound equally heartbreaking. On 'Five Dreams Of Being', amorous frustrations and successes abound and, armed with an acoustic guitar and a smooth, lovely delivery, Puckett's songs are gently rolling revelations about the things that happen between two people who are in love, or falling out of it. He summons everyone from Nick Drake to Jack Johnson."
