My Dad managed & produced the Reggae artist Boris Gardner, which went on to score the number 1 hit song ‘I want to wake up with you’.
I’ve followed in my Dad’s footsteps, but my intention is to carve a niche for myself. It was Rap music & not Reggae that moved me, that spoke to me, that whole ‘Fuck it’ attitude, ‘the odds are against me but Fuck it, I’m not going to sit around and wait for the heavens to open up to seek redemption’. This music has given me focus. For real, this music took me off the streets of North London.
Now my influences are the classics, Snoop, Biggie, Pac,DMX, Nas, Puffy, Jigga, Fifty, Fat -Joe
New school influences. Kanye West, 50cent,Common, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, To
Name a few.
People I’m feeling, Dizzy, Sway, Sincere, Jay Sean, Tiao Cruz, Estelle, Amy Winehouse, Duffy.
But I do think that UK hip-hop is still missing something & that’s where I come in. There’s too much enfaces on being ‘real’, what about some fun. My intention is to sex it up & dress it up. I’m from a more popular angle putting heart & soul into this UK Rap Scene, showing another side to a hip hop artist that is rarely seen or heard of. Relationship Rap, Dance, Hip-Hop & yes thought provoking rhymes. Dealing with my struggles growing up in a single parent environment, having to grow up before my time & succumbing to, and over coming peer pressure.
The first single ‘Intoxicated’ is a banger & a raunchy feel good tune. My theme is never judge a book by its cover! I deal with my life now & before. It’s a journey between two worlds & how my life has turned around, for the better.
