Matthias Simoner

Bio:

Matthias Simoner was chosen, by Brian May personally, to be the No.1 guitarist, the principal guitar player, in QUEEN's own Rock theatrical/musical production "We Will Rock You", also known as WWRY, located in Cologne, Germany. (The musical supervisors are Brian May, Roger Taylor and Mike Dixon). Matthias has played principal guitar in the well loved and highly acclaimed show in Germany since the Premier, i.e. day 1 (opened in Nov.2004) and, after far more than 1000 performances, he still rocks the crowd night after night after night!

In 2009 Matthias joined the band of famous austrian artist Christina Stuermer.

He studied guitar at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, being tutored by PETER LEGAT (Count Basic, Team Legat) and MARTIN KELNER (Kylie Minogue, Georg Danzer, Andy Baum, etc.).



His constant and longtime collaboration together with (and also including his own) Bands such UNGEBLEICHT, HORNY FUNK BROTHERS, HYDROUS, ERIC PAPILAYA, CCR-PROJECT, M!ORPHEUS MUSIC, ALYSSA, TOFU, the WWRY-BAND, etc. have established him as a proved and talented, very versatile and multi-faceted guitar player, bringing not only his talent with him, but also a wonderful sense of humour and a sensibility to and for the music.
