About me:
Matthijs van der Ven is a freelance journalist, videomaker and –editor. After finishing high school, he moves from Ridderkerk to Utrecht to study Journalism. Early on during this study, Van der Ven starts writing about music, amongst others for 3VOOR12/Utrecht, a local initiative by VPRO’s 3VOOR12. After internships at the newspaper AD/Rotterdams Dagblad and VPRO’s music website 3VOOR12, he graduates from Journalism by writing a vision about the usefulness of negative art reviews, and an article on the Dutch musician Anne Soldaat (Daryll-Ann, Do-The-Undo). Right now, he’s working on a documentary about Soldaat, planned for release in spring 2009. Matthijs van der Ven can be hired as a writing journalist, videomaker and/or –editor for all kinds of media. He is also available for making music videos, (short) documentaries or keeping the content of your (band) websites up to date. Vanavond is er een speciale In A Cabin WIth avond op het Festival a/d Werf, de Neude Utrecht. Drie In A Cabin With acts zullen vanavond spelen op het grote podium op de Neude: Waiting for Eve (pop/jazz opgenomen in Frankrijk met diverse leden van de bekende Franse band Les Blaireaux), The Incredible Comeback of Stan Diego (PRIMEUR! opgenomen in Tonatico Mexico met Paul Willemsen (Zuco103, Shane Shu) en Stan Vreeken (Along Came Stan)) en Chop Wood (solo project van Odilo Girod (Coparck) met Finn Kruyning (Moss) en Jelte Heringa (Most Unpleasant Men) inclusief visuals.
The Incredible Comeback of Stan Diego vertrekt morgenochtend na deze primeur naar Mexico om daar op het prestigeuze Ollin Kan festival te spelen. Chop Wood is deze zomer geboekt voor de Parade in Utrecht en Amsterdam.
