Matt Jones is a Brazilian born, Texas bred singer-songwriter with a unique baritone voice, whose style has been described as a male Nina Simone singing Americana.
He mainly plays in New York City and Brooklyn, at great rooms such as Rockwood Music Hall, and Public Assembly, both with his full band, and solo, as well as in venues in upstate New York, Texas and Arizona.
He released the EP, Butter and Rum, in 2007, produced by Bobby Sichran, (who released From a Sympathetical Hurricane with Columbia Records in 1994), and is currently working with producer Alex Houton (Charlotte Sometimes, Geffen) on a five track EP. Matt is planning an East coast tour in conjunction with this release in 2010.
