Check out how I slip into third person here: Their youngest boy picking up the guitar at seven was probably the hardest on Matt Nasi's parents. With no formal training or lessons, their ears paid the price for Matt's free time abundant childhood. Growing up with two very musical older brothers, Matt developed an early attraction to music and found comfort in both the guitar and the piano. As time went on so did Matts abilities and he started writing music in middle school (granted it wasnt terribly advanced). High School proved useful to Matts musical growth thanks to a series of bands Matt was in with his best friend Ryan in good old Pueblo, Colorado. Moving out to Flagstaff, Arizona inspired a change in Matts playing, as he traded in his half-stack for a Martin and got down to a new sound after an epiphany of hearing John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Pete Yorn for the first time all in the same summer. Since his dedication to let himself go within his music, Matt has played numerous local Flagstaff coffee shops and restaurants with the support of his college buddies and his former girlfriend, now wife, Ashley Rawling. Thanks to a myspace connection with Denver hot shots, The Trampolines, Matt had the chance to play a couple of shows at the famous Soiled Dove in LoDo opening for a newly discovered family friend in Matthew Moon. Matt concluded his college experience in May of 2006 and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Advertising and moved back to his home state of Colorado. He got married in September and is now diving head long into the Denver music scene with shows at the Walnut Room and is looking forward to other possible shows in the mile high city. Back to the normal voice: At the risk of sounding cheesy, I write to vent and occasionally people can identify. Matt you're sounding amazing! I still have the first cd that you've recorded from way back when Josh and I were living together in Flag! The Colorado Skies song will forever be my favorite! When I am done with my Master's I will be headed up to Colorado to start new life. I miss it there! Then I'll get to see you all live. Hope you and the wifey are well!
