Born a while ago in North Wales, Sublime Co-promoter and Resident Matt Rycroft, was raised by pigeons and lived on Rhyl promenade, he was first introduced to Djing back in 1993 when like all good 1st year Students he blew his Loan Cheque on a set of 1210's, and proceeded to annoy the hell out of the foreign idiots he shared his halls of residence with.
After taking his decks to every after club soiree, he built up his reputation quite literally as a party dj, with no aspirations to be "cool", or to play cool records just cause sasha or whoever was playing them.
After a couple of years of playing in a few bars, Matt got his first chance at Free2dance, playing the warm up set for then Resident Nathan Hearn, from this it became a regular set, before eventually he was offered Co-residency with four other DJs on a rotational basis.
One by one the other Djs left Free2dance and Matt was left all on his lonesome, a residency he held for 4 years making Tuesday nights at the Students Union his own little playground.
After the Death of the Students Union, Feel Co-promoter Watki approached Matt to organise and be the new resident of a new night called "Sublime".
Early in 2005 Matt was made resident at Preston's Longest running and biggest night. "Feel" www.feel-it.co.uk, In the last 4 years he has also held down residencies at Toast in Lancaster. Ocean in Preston, Base in Preston, Liquid in Oldham, The Works in Burnley, Fusion in Workington, Manyanas in Preston. And guested all over the north west generally under the influence of Vodka and smoking too many fags.
Early August 2006 Matt has been offered a new Saturday night residency. Something he promised he'd never do again. Stay tuned. You never know where he is going to show up next.
