The Sicknotes were formed in December 2007 when singer Matt Richardson asked old friends Mel Maccallaugh and Guy Whittaker to play on his songs. Ten days later they played their first gig together at The Washington and have gone on to play numerous gigs around Sheffield. They are resident band at The Green Room on the first tuesday of every month, where they play along with guest bands they've invited. They have just finished a demo which they recorded with local producer Nort and are keen to start gigging further afield.

Downtempo thing with beats and strings and stuff. Check it out at www. myspace. com/opponentlive if you get chance. Let me/us know what you think. EaSy! :-)

hiya mate, that sicknote came n handy - i used it, but then realised i work for an agency and can work whenever i want anyway, so it didnt make any difference! thanks for the flyer - i need some healing so will be there for my treatment!

Hi Matt. The gig was brilliant yesterday. Your songs are sounding great! Hey, you know you can't change the address at the top because myspace only lets you change that when you create a profile, so you're better off creating a new profile for the band. Cheers!
The Old Sweet Shop is 1 year old on 2nd December. It has been a fantastic first year and we would like to thank everyone, customers, visitors, friends and artists alike, for their continued support.

A new exhibition will also be starting to coincide with the birthday party. Throughout December an array of artwork by some of our finest local independent artists will adorn the main exhibition wall.
