Born into a long line of farmers, steel workers and preachers, Matt tends to gravitate towards traditional American forms of music. Traditional gospel, country blues, old-timey, mountain music, piedmont blues, bluegrass, traditional country, alt.country, folk, singer/songwriter, rock, indie-rock, post punk....Matt likes it all. Matt is a performing songwriter, poet and an artist. He has been working as a professional graphic artist for the past 9 years and doing his music on the weekends. Matt has recorded and self released 4 albums, "Hangin' On", "Take The Back Roads", "Seems Like Forever" w/ Micah Dunn, and his most recent, "Barstools and Church Pews". If you’re interested purchasing any of these albums, email Matt at mtexter@yahoo.com. Whether Matt is playing at the PA State Correctional Facility in Mercer, PA, at a music festival or in a nursing home, he strives to set everyone at ease and let his audience know they are not alone. Email Matt if you are interested in having him play at your event.
