I like to travel, and have been lucky enough to get to a few places, outside the US and many places within the US. Although with the foreign countries that I have seen, there's not much that matches the natural beauty, and the quality of climbing, we have been blessed with here.Music
Relient K, Jeremy Camp, Sanctus Real, Day of Fire, Thousand Foot Crutch, Disciple, Jonah 33, Skillet, P.O.D., Chilli Peppers, Johnny Cash, Cat Stevens, Social D, Jars of Clay, Kutless, Foo Fighters, The Dead, The Police, '70s Motown like Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green, Barry White, early Michael Jackson.Movies
Classics: All the Clint Eastwood westerns and westerns in general, Rocky I, II, IV and VI. Dazed and Confused if you're playing the man game. The Star Wars movies, especially The Empire Strikes Back. Escape From New York, and the first Mad Max or any thing else from the post-apocalyptic genre. Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments. Modern stuff: 3:10 to Yuma, No Country for Old Men, Unforgiven, Gangs of New York, I Am Sam, any historical epics like Gladiator, Braveheart or Troy, Stranger than Fiction, and Gone Baby Gone had a "wicked awesome pissa'" of an ending.Television
Books
Mostly nonfiction and climbing books anymore, but there are a few that have had a profound impact on me. Shel Silverstein's "A Light in the Attic" and "The Giving Tree" when I first learned to read. S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" when I was 12. The lyrics from Metallica's "...and Justice for All" when I was 16. John Long's "Rock Climbing Anchors" when I was 19. The textbook to my philosophy of logic class when I was 21. Carlos Casaneda's "The Teachings of Don Juan" when I was 23. Arno Illgner's "The Rock Warrior's Way" when I was 28. The Bible throughout my entire life, a few chapters a day will do ya' good. And although I'm not sure if it had an impact on my perception of the world like the books listed above, I think my favorite book of all times is Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls".Heroes
Those who are willing to sacrafice what they want for what they believe in, anyone who can rise above thier fears, people who commit to thier beliefs or dreams despite any dangers, hardships or temptations they may face. Those who oppose the blindness of normalcy, and forgo the security of the herd to strive for the deeper yearnings of the Spirit.

About me:
I love to climb, as if you couldn't tell. I surf, but I suck at it, and will probably drown someday. I should probably start wearing waterwings and a life vest, but then I wouldn't look cool, or more accurately I'd look even less cool. I have some really cool friends, that are very loyal and loving to me. I like to think and be challenged, but not as much as I like to overcome a challenge. My mom's a great source of spiritual guidance in my life. I'm a goober and often enjoy being annoying, though I take myself way to seriously sometimes. Maybe most of the time, so I'm thankful when I get a lil' bitch slap from God reminding me that I should chill out on all the self-possessed angst. I can't help it though, I was a psych major, and besides we're all a little nuts. ..Who I'd like to meet:
I will meet Him someday, other than that I think if there was one famous person I could meet it would have to be Abraham Lincoln, but there are a few friends and acquaintances I'd like to see again.Details

Well I did go to three Halloween parties, but the new kitty cat picture, I was actually reusing the costume for my 35th BIRTHDAY party. I had it kind of early. I had people dress up as an animal. I miss ya and would like to see ya sometime still, just kind of too broke to go to dinner or anything. We should hang out though.
Love you and talk to you soon, fellow Scorpio.
Love Beck
PS: Only another week or so until YOUR special day, when you get to move ahead a year and be older than me. :)

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, we have been planning for months. My male friends sure have a talent for building, you know how you men are - naturally talented in that area. I have a much shorter trip this year for Burning Man, just around 3 days.
Would you like to get together for dinner again soon, after Labor Day and stuff? We can try a different place if you want.
Love you, Beck

Just had dinner and a drink w/ Ryan Poplawski. He came here to visit finally (it being Father's Day and all). I am sure he would like to see you too and he's sorry it didn't work out last time (I think he tried and you guys didn't connect). Anyway, hope to see you soon.
Love you, Beck
