Extreme optimism of the Magical Musical Mythical Opti-Mystic.
I'm currently living in Eugene Oregon and play a variety of instruments including guitar, harmonium, flute and harmonica with various friends & groups. I'm not giging much at the moment but occasionally play with my friends like the Mystic Travellers, Bro. Roots Old time Ragged Revival, Fearless Love and The Eternal Now with Robert Scott Curlis. I'm also a rogue member and Harmonica sideman with The Conjugal Visitors, Eugene's high-energy bio-dynamic bluegrass band.

My roots are in the electric blues style inspired by Muddy Waters whom I had the good fortune to meet in the 70's. At the time I was musically inspired by the electric blues harmonica of Paul Butterfield and my band at the time was called BLUE THUNDER. Our powerful electric blues rock can be heard at the link above. Most of the songs on this cd posted here "Artistic-2-Mystic" were written during the transitional period between 2000 & 2004. Some were written in hotel rooms & beaches in Thailand. But most of them came about while living in Walton Oregon on my friends 30 acre wooded hillside by the Siuslaw River. The songs are primarily explorations of spiritual themes woven together with various folk influences. The general mood at the outset was a sort of eclectic Psychedelic world folk sound. Not psychedelic as in the use of drugs, but as in the original meaning of the word-psyche...meaning soul. Its an organic soul centered music with spirituality as its basis. "Artistic-2-Mystic" represents a renewal of my spirit through faith, music and an appreciation for the beautiful mysteries of life. This musical paradigm has grown over the years and was additionally inspired in part by the music, poetry, and seminal east-west musical fusions of Robin Williamson & The Incredible String Band. Like the ISB, my music incorporates various spiritual, celtic, indian, early american roots music and world influences. These songs speak of faith, unity, peace and inner transformation. All six of these tracks were recorded in Eugene using instruments like exotic drums, guitar, tampura, flute, harmonica, penny whistle and a modified sitar-like instrument. The full cd can be heard at the speakerheart link on this page. I'm grateful to share these songs and I hope they enrich your life by focusing on what is inspiring, bright and beautiful, for we always reap what we sow in our heart. "When everything is done for the Center of all beauty, everything is beautifully done."
Thank you for your inspiration to pursue my own life. i feel safe knowing there is someone looking out for my best intrests and supporting my choices and goals.
