R.E.M., Pavement, Old 97's, The Wallflowers, Liz Phair, Uncle Tupelo/Son Volt, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Kathleen Edwards, Bruce Springsteen, Luna, Rilo Kiley/The Elected, Ryan Adams, The Jayhawks, Jonathan Richman, Miracle Legion, Morrissey, Cyndi Lauper and just Americana in general.
I've been playing guitar since I was 14 and singing my whole life. I'm living and working in Pittsburgh, and just recently got my master's in English/film studies from Pitt. I don't have any great ambitions for my music career, and I'm almost too old to try out for American Idol, but I love singing and writing songs! I basically love indie rock of the 80s and 90s and 60s pop and garage rock. When I'm not living in the past, there's a lot of new indie and alt country I like as well. I wish I could play the guitar like J. Mascis, but I'll have to stick with the acoustic path for now.
Thanks for listening!
Thanks for the add Maura- This music of yours, it's the kind of thing that reminds one of the more innocent times from our past. For me it's driving through the desert on a road trip the summer after high school, a few friends I haven't really seen since. You also have a very familiar but unique voice, btw. I hope you stick with this, it's very beautiful all the way around. ~Thadeus
Maura! Now that I finally have non-dial-up intraweb access, I can actually listen to your music...it's so beautiful! So, um, can I expect to hear "Young Girl" anytime soon?
Welcome Pete Wrigley. We've been expecting you, but were worried you wouldn't show. The Car Wash song is beautiful. (esp. like the harmonica) Look forward to hearing more!
