I have performed FOR OSCAR PETERSON, OLIVER JONES, IAN THOMAS, RICHIE HAYWARD, TOM COCHRANE, LOU ANN BARTON, CLIFFORD ANTONE, KIM WILSON, CARMINE APPICE, to recall a few. I have been awarded MAPLE BLUES DRUMMER OF THE YEAR 1997, 1998 & 1999 and it has just been announced that I have been nominated MAPLE BLUES DRUMMER OF THE YEAR 2009. I was previously nominated for MAPLE BLUES FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR 3X and MAUREEN BROWN & BIG HAND, won New Blues Talent Search, represented Canada at the W.C. Handy International Blues Search 1994. I was also awarded REAL BLUES DRUMMER OF THE YEAR, 1997. I am a classically trained percussionist and was a former member of the Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra. I'm an ACTRA member ...you may have seen me in Night Owl, or another movie...or maybe you have heard some of my music on T.V? I was a drum coach for an actor on De GRASSI HIGH and enjoy teaching drums. I am also an artist, mainly focusing on watercolours and pen and ink. I have 3 bands: The Maureen Brown Band, my blues based trio/quartette, The Tulips, my 4 piece all female, quartette, Maureen Brown & Big Hand, 9 piece award-winning New Oleans inspired party band. I also free-lance on drums, percussion & vocals and play a "female" washboard.
