Libri During these years he got convinced that the jazz guitar should have been melodically interpretated as a saxophone (imitating its breath) and harmonically as a piano, thing that rarely happens among guitarists, especially in soloist phase. So he decided to fill these gaps (process that is making advances today) studying the saxophone store of the greatest saxophonists (above all hearing its sound) and also studying piano stores (adapting them to the limited guitar’s range) of whether jazz or cultured music, among them Bach, but especially Debussy and Ravel, artists that have inspired so much in jazz music. Moreover, he attended various seminars and clinic with artists of international and national fame: Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson, Brett Garsed, Umberto Fiorentino, Fabio Zeppetella, Giacomo Castellano, William Stravato. He played in different formations besides the soloist guitar: duo, trio, quartet up to sextet.

Maurizio Santoro was born in 1982, in a musical favourable environment for musicians; he started approaching to music when he was 12 years old studying the classical piano for a few years. Then he got fascinated by another musical instrument the guitar, and he spent most of his time studying it ( not leaving aside the first instrument ) first as autodidact then with his uncle’s lessons ( guitar teacher). Always having a favourable attitude to the learning of every musical style he dedicated himself especially to the study of jazz, but also classical, rock, blues, funky and fusion music. Then he met the Maestro Marco di Meo with whom he started the detailed study of jazz’s improvisation, and he attended the Centre for musical Studies “L’Accademia”, studying the style of the greatest jazz musicians:C. Parker, J. Coltrane, W. Montgomery, B. Evans, J. pass, and others.
