   About Mauro Pagani
Mauro Paganis professional career started in 1970: together with four Milanese musicians, he set up the Premiata Forneria Marconi with which he worked until 1977. They published four LPs, made several shows of Italy, five European tours, four American tours and one in Japan. At the end of the Japanese tour the Japanese critic voted Mauro Pagani among the ten best world musicians. In 1979 he made his first solo album, which carries his own name, with guest artists like Area, Canzoniere del Lazio, Teresa de Sio, and many others. In 1980 some of the best jazz musicians of the Roman scene (Maurizio Giammarco, Danilo Rea, Roberto Della Grotta) joined the group; giving birth to the Carnascialia project, followed by an album and two tours. In 1981 he met Gabriele Salvatores and made the music for "Sogno di una notte destate", on stage at the Elfo Theatre, and then for the movie of the same name. Between 1983 and 1984 he started collaborating with Fabrizio De Andrè, for whom he went on to be producer and arranger for ten years. They wrote "Creuza de Ma" together, voted best Italian album of the Eighties and put by David Byrne among the ten most important albums of the decade in the world. Several collaborations and tours followed: Ornella Vanoni, Roberto Vecchioni, Gianna Nannini, just to mention a few; then Fabrizio De Andrè again for Le Nuvole in 1990, and the double live 1991 Concerti, both Album of the Year. He published his second solo album too: "Passa la bellezza", Tenco Prize 1991. 1992 is Puerto Escondido year. The movie soundtrack is the most sold album in its category. Other three years of production followed, among which the ones with Brando and Fabio Roveroni, till the third work with Salvatores. This time it was Nirvana: the movie is shown all over the world. It is presented at the Cannes Film Festival and the soundtrack is second in the special best seller hit, besides winning the nomination for the David di Donatello Award. In 1998 he took over the glorious "Studi Regson" of Milano, and set up "Le Officine Meccaniche", where he started collaborating with some of the most important Italian artists like Bluvertigo, Cristina Donà, Zucchero, Almamegretta. In 2003 he published Domani, gaining second place at the Tenco Prize as best Italian album and best Italian album voted by the Italian press in the poll promoted by the Lisola che non cera magazine.
