At a young age actually, I always loved to perform and entertain people, when in elementary school I’ve started to develop an interest in singing and performing. I guess the enthusiasm started to grow there.
Who are your Idols
I don’t have that many in the entertainment business but one without a doubt is Maria Callas, I’m intrigued by her life, performances and of course her vocal techniques.
Do you have studio/performing experience
Yes, I have and I love to do both. My first experience in a recording studio was for a Christmas song called: “Silent Night”, it was the first time I recorded a song. My father wrote a revue, theatrical entertainment, and all the songs that where performed on stage where put on a CD. It was a great experienced for me, wonderful times.
..
What genre do you like most
There is so much to like, so many different styles, hard to tell. I like a lot!
What’s your goal
My goal, well one of my goals is to promote classical music worldwide.
And what gets you annoyed
Artists who don’t take their performance serious.
What do you think about today’s popular music
Today’s popular music, I don’t know exactly what’s popular, it’s always difficult to find a new sound, a sound that is unique. In general today’s music you can hear the so called trends, when beats or computer voices are the trend then you hear them in various songs, listen and you can detect the trend this year. I don’t think there is much originality though in today’s pop music that I know, I suppose an interesting video clip will do wonders for the popularity of a particular song as well.
If you can choose, with whom would you like to sing a duet
One of my favorite duets is the one with Freddie Mercury and Montserrat singing Barcelona. It was a wonderful combination and a success. I don’t have somebody particular in mind but I would love to create something original like that.
Talking about favorites, which song is your favorite
Difficult question, I enjoy watching westerns and one of my absolute favorites is "Once upon a time in the West" directed by Sergio Leone, everything works especially the soundtrack "Once upon a time in the West by Ennio Morricone", beautiful piece of work performed by Edda Dell'Orso. Of course Maria Callas - "Vissi d'arte" or "La Wally", "Casta Diva", "La mamma morta", "Un bel di, vedre", "Addio, del passato", to name a few.
Another favorite is The Requiem Mass in D minor by Mozart and The Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi - Dies irae, Libera me. Cavalleria Rusticana - Intermezzo.
Some of Nina Simone: Strange Fruit, Cherish, Here Comes The Sun, My Man's Gone Now, To Love Somebody, Ain't Got No - I Got Life for example or Elvis Presley - If I Can Dream, beautiful song. Riders on the storm by the Doors, Sitting on the dock of the bay by Otis Redding and Tom Waits - Waltzing Matilda, Johnny Cash - Hurt, Sonny Boy Williamson II - Bye Bye Bird, Mantovani - Charmaine, Saint-Saëns - Danse Macabre and many, many, many more. Opera, Jazz, Country, Blues, Ambient, Acoustic, Soundtracks, Oldies, I like it all.
When do you expect your big break through
I hope soon, but as usual, many things are dependable on personal evaluations.
