Remember when rock bands wrote hooks, when solid songwriting was executed before trendy image was
incorporated, and vocalists put intelligent thought and emotions into lyrics rather than forced rhyme? Maven
celebrates these elements as they flow from the stage and stacks to the eyes and ears of satisfied fans across South Louisiana.
This three-piece proves that less is more. Joe Glass handles vocals and guitar. He performs as if his body is
separated from soul and voice; an enigmatic division that embraces and distributes all of himself to any that will
listen. Brandon Knutson, on drums, adds essence and substance instead of rudimentary beats to the group. He
drives the band with an original interpretation of songs while driving the crowd with dynamics and precision.
Justin Snyder, on bass, is the third dimension to Maven's sound. Bridging the gap from percussion to guitar,
Snyder mediates the spectrum of the bands sound with rhythm and melody.
Tracks from the band have received airplay on Rock 93.7 KOOJ and
91.1 KLSU in Baton Rouge as well as 90.9 KSLU in Hammond. In addition to performing in local bars and clubs, MAVEN has played in venues all across the southwest region.
Maven also performs at events to benefit charities and organizations. The band has contributed their talent to
raise money for the Dreams Come True Network for the past two years. The boys have also performed at a
show benefiting Louisiana's CANOLA organization.
