Maxie Santillan, Jr.'s Demo Reel
I was born in Glendale, CA in 1956, grew up in Burbank, CA and lived there most of my life. I had always lived around the studios and I went to school with several celebrities: Manuel Padilla, Jr., Ronnie Howard, Clint Howard, and Randy Rhoads to name a few. I started my acting career pretty late in life. June 30, 2001 to be exact, at the age of 45. I was a roofer and roofing contractor for over 30 years, until the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, when we moved to Quartz Hill, CA. The desert ain't a smart place for a roofer to live, seeing as how it never rains in the desert, and that's when I got in to acting. I've been very lucky and fortunate so far in my career, starting out doing background work, working to get my first credit on "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl." Since Pirates, I haven't looked back, except to remember the fun times I had on the set. I've been moving forward in my career and I've been having a great time doing it. To be a character actor, I couldn't ask for much more. I learned in acting that positive brings positive, negativity brings negativity and acting is full of people with positive dreams and positive attitudes. Also, since acting I've been able to help in many charities, such as: Make-A-Wish Foundation, CODA, CHOC, and anything to do with autism. I'll be spending more time supporting autism, seeing as how all of my family works with autistic children. Remember that Autism Awareness Month is April, but we should be aware everyday. I love acting and everything that I've been able to do with it and I hope you see me on the big or small screen, often. God bless, Maxie Santillan, Jr.
