Max Harris Project was born after a chance meeting between me (Simon Willey) & Max Harris (genius composer) in the depths of a bakelite medium wave trawl. As a result, I faithfully promised to credit him on any future musical releases. He remains my sole trader.
As an artist, I collaborate with many of the musicians that I meet as part of my day job (freelance sound engineer, myspace.com/area18). These wonderful people are all listed along with their contributions on this page...
Max Harris Project has now, at last, finished his debut EP, 'An Ounce Of Fives', to be released on Hard Graft in August 2007. It will have 5 tracks. The first three here are on it. The other isn't.
I also play in bands with a couple of folks...Mr Patrick "Thistle" Whelan, David James Herbert & Pullover. They are all good. All the gigs that I do with these lot are listed on this page.
It has been my good fortune to help record and in some cases produce many of my friends on this space...most notably - Grantura.
Myself, MW Bewick & Col. Decker aka47 DJ Cleaver run a monthly night at Filthy McNasty's called All Aboard The Mudlark. We play all sorts of records and have a couple of solo artists play (usually acoustic, sometimes bonkers). This is a real good laugh, and occurs on the last sunday of every month without fail, for FREE!
All Aboard The Mudlark has now just started to do a night once a quarter at The Social, little portland st. The first one in march was a big success, with storming sets from MW Bewick, David James Herbert, Thee Single Spy & Grantura. This night is also for FREE!
