Maximum Basie brengt Soul; doordrongen van funk en blues, zweet en draaiende heupen. De band kolkt als een bergstroom en is groovy as hell.
Het zestal presenteert nu ‘My James Brown’, een broeierige single, in een productie van Huub Reynders (NL).
De songs van Maximum Basie zijn vooral een soulperformance, gestalte gegeven door Judith Okon; een tsunami met Nigeriaanse roots; een parel van een zangeres, a Queen in waiting.
De groove, de koorts, de beat, de twang wordt op kookpunt gebracht door Rik Vermeir (gitaar), Gunter Deleu (bass), Bart Thys (drums), Kris Vermeir (toetsen) en Mattias De Craene (saxofoon). De band vindt waarachtigheid héél belangrijk.
Eén en ander zie je dus live gebeuren; Maximum Basie staat garant voor stomende gigs waarvan de klasse afdruipt. Zowel in eigen land als daarbuiten, op grote of kleine podia, weer of geen weer; songs zoals ‘Groovin’, ‘My James Brown’, ‘It’s allright’, ‘Julian’, ‘Boom Boom Soul’ … bezorgen de groep reeds een sterke reputatie.
Een leuke bijkomstigheid is dat het publiek, klein of groot, stééds weer op het podium wordt uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan het feest.
De inspiratie komt van overal en ook van mensen zoals Aretha Franklin, Lisa Kekaula, Erykah Badu, Paul Weller, Marvin Gaye…

The sextet presents you now ‘My James Brown’, a hip single, produced by Huub Reynders (NL). The songs of Maximum Basie are soulperformances above all, impersonated by Judith Okon; a tsunami with Nigerian roots; a s(w)inging diamond, a Queen in waiting. The groove, the fever, the beat, the twang are brought by Rik Vermeir (guitar), Gunter Deleu (bass), Bart Thys (drums), Kris Vermeir (keys) and Mattias De Craene (saxophone). The band cares for its genuine character.
You can see this happening live; Maximum Basie garanties powerful gigs with class. In Belgium as abroad, big or small stages, rain or shine; songs like ‘Groovin’, ‘My James Brown’, ‘It’s allright’, ‘Julian’, ‘Boom Boom Soul’ … deliver the band a strong reputation. A fun side-remark is that the audience, big or small, are being invited on stage every time again to join the party.

Am 09.01.10 feiern Miss Mal So Mal und der grausige Fund drei Jahre Remmi Demmi Club! Eingeladen haben wir BEATREVOLVER aus Köln. Vielleicht ein paar Infos zur Band: Beatrevolver gehören wohl zur Speerspitze der deutschen 60´s - und Modbewegung. Und wenn mir da irgend ein Wort einfallen soll, um die Band zu beschreiben, dann ist das wohl das Wörtchen "authentisch". Verglichen wird der Sound der Band oft mit den Small Faces. Mich erinnert Beatrevolver aber eher an die frühen Zombies ( die Orgel macht´s), wobei da eine gehörige Portion Garage beigemischt ist, was dem Ganzen natürlich ein gewisses Punkflair verleiht ( und mit Punk mein ich hier nicht diese MTV-Zirkusnummern aus dem H&M-Katalog), ohne jedoch das nötige Gespür für den richtigen Groove und eingängige Melodien zu verlieren! Kurz: die Band geht live richtig ab und ist wohl genau die richtige Wahl, um unser Dreijähriges zu zelebrieren!!!! Das Konzert fängt pünktlich um 20.00 Uhr an ( Nachbarn!!!!) Danach machen wird noch richtig Party mit jeder Menge Northern Soul, Ska, Early Reggae, Beat und Modpunk...
