Il concetto risulterebbe ambiguo, e invece il bisogno è ciò che spinge verso la tecnica, verso gli innumerevoli artifici tesi alla sopravvivenza. Nulla di ambiguo, come vedete. Suoniamo, per far cadere la pioggia. Suoniamo per bandire le guerre. È la vita il sacrificio fondamentale. Non la morte. E l'arte popolare è la forma piú alta di sacrificio, perché riafferma la vita. MAXMABER ORKESTAR was born in 2003 in Triest, a city that since long has been a melting pot for cultures and people, a sort of natural gateway between East and West, a passage. MAXMABER ORKESTAR wants to be a bridge between musicians who are looking at the street music as a model of musical artistic research, a model that enables them to break into squares and streets, in theatres, at weddings in celebrations of all kinds, with the acoustic music of their instruments and voices.
We use guitars, voices, accordion, sax soprano, double bass, surdo, cajon, dar’buka coffee tins and other funny percussions, to take the audience, often passers-by, in a journey through the popular tradition of the Mediterranean Sea and of the Eastern Europe.
Our music is inspired by the klezmer of the yiddish culture, the music of the Gypsies, the music from the Balkans till Greece and the borders of Magreb, music where joy and sadness are interlaced togheter, where fair is a need of knowledge and exchange, music for travellin' humanity, in one word, sevdah...
