Hello to all. Unfortunately my mother Jacinta has been unwell for a time and has not been in a position to keep up to date with the Max Merritt Fan myspace, so I (Zane, her son), have taken over for a short time - hope that is cool with everyone.
Max is coming to Australia and you got it - Max Merritt is soon to be inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame. I know that mum is thrilled and must admit that I am too.
I hope that everyone will leave comments for Max on this myspace, congratulating him and welcoming him back to OZ.
Please remember that all messages sent will be forwarded and you can keep up to date with all news about Max, on the official website (there is a link and screen shot on this myspace that will take you there directly.
Thanks and I will do my best to take care of all while mum is out of action.
Zane
TO THE FRIENDS OF MAX MERRITT
Last year I offered to create a Myspace for "Concert for Max" and my offer was graciously accepted - How blessed was I. I still have to pinch myself as to do this, to be considered a part of the team (and what a team - what a concert), an honor to say the least and an experience that I and my children will never forget.
My teenage son took great pride in putting his touches to the site - Zane thank you kiddo, you did yourself proud and I love the fact that you still play Max's music in our home:)
The concert is over, the response from all overwhelming and all involved thank each and every person who supported, attended or became a Friend of Max Merritt.
Finding it difficult to hit the delete account button, I have retained this site as a way for his friends to tell the world and Max, just how much they care and how much they value his friendship and the music he has brought to us all over the years.
I hope that you will all continue to keep in touch - I will pop in from time to time and say hi.
I encourage all of Max's friends to make a note of the official Max Merritt website, as listed on this site. This is the place where you will be able to keep up with all the news about Max and where all messages sent will be passed directly onto Max on your behalf. All messages sent to this myspace will also be forwarded to his manager and friend Mr Wal Bishop as soon as they are opened.
I would like to say a huge thank you to a young lady by the name of Oriana who took and provided the shots from 'Concert for Max' so generously. An amazing photographer and a lady with kindness of spirit. Thank you Oriana, for capturing so many incredible moments and allowing us to share them with the world.
Let's hope that it is not too long before we hear the music, the voice and see the face of a man, who has enriched our lives and makes this world a better place.
'CONCERT FOR MAX' SUPPORT ACT LIMITED BENEFIT RAISING FUNDS TO AID MAX MERRITT!
All of the Images below in the slide show are the work of the most generous and talented young lady Oriana. Do not forget the name as he work is amazing and we are sure to see more of her work overtime (we hope so anyway):)
The Australian Entertainment industry has rallied in support of one of Australia’s biggest rock stars of the 1960s and 1970s, Max Merritt, who has fallen on hard times since being admitted to a U.S. hospital after suffering kidney failure.
A Benefit "Concert For Max" will be held on Sunday 21 October at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda. The 3000 seat venue will play host to a string of artists who have donated their time in support of their good friend Max Merritt including Ross Wilson, Kevin Borich, John Paul Young, Dinah Lee, The Delltones, Doug Parkinson, Wilbur Wilde and Spectrum and more.
Speaking from his home in suburban Los Angeles, Max said "I am finding it very difficult to adequately express my appreciation for the help and support during my time of extreme personal need. Your help is absolutely overwhelming".
THE ROLL OF RENOWN PROUDLY DISPLAYS THE GENEROSITY OF SO MANY, WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERTED TO MAKE 'CONCERT FOR MAX' A REALITY. WITHOUT ALL THIS DREAM WOULD NOT HAVE COME TRUE. THANK YOU ALL:)
