''Young london songwriter Max Shire clearly draws a lot of things from Jeff Buckley and Radiohead-rawness,passion,angst and melody among them.By also allowing his own personality and and ideas room to shine,he ensures that this debut is exciting rather than obvious...7/10-Rock sound magazine
"Max Shire does not sound much like Jeff Buckley, and Love Lost Again does not sound like Grace.Yet they are similar in their ambition and focus and, moreover,in the desperation that both records hold close to their sound."- 11/13 www.roomthirteen.com
"Released on no label, self produced, mostly played by himself,Love Lost Again is a 36min trawl through what Max Shire has to offer a record label-and thats certainly a lot"- 5/5 www.rockmidgets.com
''He has a voice akin to Cobain and Buckley, with vast reach,an intrinsic tortured angst and an ability to make initially inaudible mumblings and sighs tell more of a story than words ever could.''

"Into the meat of the album,Max wears his heart on his sleeve, singing
through his teeth on some girls, and although earnest, there is substance there. The rebirth visions is atmospheric and powerful whilst the tearing chorus of Born.Unborn.Born Again breaks down and builds up to give an excellent climax to what is a promising debut"

''The spirit if not sound of Jeff Buckley lives on in this deeply impressive debut''- Redtram news
After sceaming my guts out with The Pursuit for a number of years, the band eventually came to a nasty end and I decided to record some of my own music.without any of that dreaded band compromise stuff... I recorded rough demos of some of the songs you can listen to here, using a drum machine and playing everything else myself...I was then lucky enough to find two great musicians, Dan and John [drummer and bassist] who played on the finished album[do unknowns get to call their stuff albums?],Love lost again...Here are a few of those songs, I really threw myself into this recording, hope it shows...Max
Oh wow, same here. But I'm doing great thank you. Just keeping busy with all my photography work. I had some of my pieces displayed in a gallery event for the first time just recently. That was exciting. Another is going to be in a book. And people've been hiring me here and there so I have a few projects still under my wing. So that gives you an idea of how hectic things have been for me lately...hahaha
So how are you? How's life in wonderful London Mr.Shire? ;)
Max!! I've missed ya, pal! I see you read my poems/songbabies haha. I just looked over them again-theyre kinda depressing, yeah? Thanks for the kudo on the one..I think it was the only optimistic one! I hope the stress is good stress because I'm looking forward to some new tunes from you! :) take care -mel
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Sounds like exciting things are happening for ya! I'm still singing..I took a stab at writing - I'd like to know what you think..they're in my blogs. Now if only I could get some music behind it all...what can I say, you INSPIRE me Mr. Shire :) -mel

But anyway my english has improved, I've been abroad for a long time, so maybe ... why not? when I will be inspired again I could write something in english! :-)
