In fact the sonorous infuences of Bands and Artistry from beyond the ocean like Los Lobos, The Del Fuegos, The Long Ryders, The Beat Farmers, Blues Traveler, The Blasters, Popa Chubby, Robben Ford, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Healey, John Campbell, John "Cougar" Mellencamp etc. are felt strongly etc.

MAX STRATOS & THE BORDER RADIO is a Rock-Blues Band from Sicily, Italy.
It was born in 1996, as a result of many years of thick cooperation between Max Stratos(Electric Guitar/Lead Voice) and Kiko(Drum). In last years several bass guitarists took turns and the band is recently assisted by Lagrange(Bass Guitar/Electric Guitar/Voice/Harp). The Band's repertoire is only made of their own composing songs, written(in English), composed and set by Max Stratos and afterwards arranged with Border Radio. They firmly believe in their new musical project and want to carry it out, even with a big effort of the Power-Trio(and only a few bands still do it), taking part in various Rock and Blues music shows and festivals. In October 2007 the Band was special guest of the music live broadcast programme "LIVE MUSIC" on TELESPAZIO CALABRIA(broadcasting interregional station) and played some pieces from next CD. Since 2001 the live-activity of MAX STRATOS & THE BORDER RADIO has become more frequent, having peaked 80 concerts a year, among public Squares and Pubs in the whole Italy. The Band sometimes makes use of the performances of two great musicians: the harmonica player JOE PEDROS and the guitarist ANDREA NOTTI, who will be Special Guests in the next CD "ON THE ROAD", wich is coming out on Mars of 2008("BLUE-ART" Label). The Band also agrees "ANTARES"(www.viviantares.com) and "PUB ITALIA" pojects for the live music spreading in all the Italian Pubs. (Special Thanks to Monica Maugeri!! :D) MAX STRATOS & THE BORDER RADIO è una Rock-Blues Band di S.Teresa di Riva/Milazzo(Me). Essa nasce nel 1996 ed è costituita da Max Stratos(Chitarra Elettrica/Voce), Lagrange(Basso Elettrico/Chitarra Elettrica/Voce/Armonica) e Kiko(Batteria). Il repertorio della Band è formato esclusivamente da brani di propria composizione. Le Songs sono scritte(in lingua inglese), composte e musicate interamente da MAX STRATOS e poi, in seconda fase, arrangiate insieme ai BORDER RADIO.
Il fatto di credere in un progetto inedito e di ostinarsi a portarlo avanti(cosa in cui veramente poche Bands credono), premia il Power-Trio dello sforzo fatto, facendolo partecipare a diverse manifestazioni musicali(Rassegne e Festival) Rock e Rock-Blues come il "Summer Festival" di Taormina(1998), il "Sonica" di Messina(1999), il "Naxos in Rock" di Giardini-Naxos(2000) ed il "Salone della Musica" di Catania(2001). Ed ancora le rassegne Blues "MILAZZO ON THE ROAD"(2003) e "BARCELLONA DELTA BLUES"(2003); le rassegne Rock "Re Sole" di Regalbuto(2004) e "Open Music" di Palmi(2004, 2005, 2006 e 2007) ed il festival "Città di Caltanissetta"(2006). Inoltre la Band è stata anche semifinalista al teatro Masciari di Catanzaro di "Obiettivo Blues In" per le eliminatorie del "PISTOIA BLUES FESTIVAL"(2006 e 2007); finalista al "TROPEA BLUES FESTIVAL"(2006), selezionata al "Blues Band on Stage" per le eliminatorie dell'"ETNA BLUES FESTIVAL" di Catania(2006 e 2007); finalista al Festival "ROCKAUSER" di Catanzaro(2006 e 2007); seconda assoluta e vincitrice del "Premio alla Critica" al "REGGIOLIVE" di Reggio Calabria(2006); selezionata al "Blues in Action" per le eliminatorie del "SUMMERTIME BLUES FESTIVAL" di Alcamo(2007 e 2008), vincitrice di "PUB ITALIA"(2007) ed ospite al "MELIZZANO BLUES FESTIVAL" di Benevento(2008). Dal 2001 l'attività live dei BORDER RADIO si intensifica, arrivando a fare oltre 80 concerti l'anno, svolti fra piazze e Pubs di Sicilia, Calabria, Basilicata, Campania, Puglia ed Abruzzo. MAX STRATOS & Co. instaurano amicizie con Artisti e Bands di Sicilia(ADEL'S, GAI BENNICI BAND, MARCO GIOE' & THE SHOTGUN, JOE PEDROS etc.), Calabria(ANDREA NOTTI BLUES BAND, BAD CHILI, WALKING TREES e SERAFINO), Abruzzo(con il noto Bluesman Italo-Americano JOE CARUSO) ed Umbria(con il Bluesman gallese ROWLAND JONES)per intrattenere reciprocamente scambi culturali e collaborazioni. La Band si avvale anche saltuariamente delle performances live del noto armonicista catanese JOE PEDROS e del noto chitarrista catanzarese ANDREA NOTTI, i quali compaiono anche come Special Guest nel nuovo CD. Infatti nel Marzo 2008, la Band pubblica il loro primo lavoro " ON THE ROAD " per l'etichetta milanese "BLUEART"(con all'attivo, fra varie pubblicazioni, anche il CD "Quadra" di MIKE STERN e PIPPO MATINO). Ultimamente "RADIOBENELUX"(www.radiobenelux.be), una Radio belga specializzata nella radio-diffusione di Rock-Blues nei Paesi Bassi, ha inserito alcuni brani del nuovo CD all'interno dei propri programmi radiofonici, riscuotendo un ottimo riscontro da parte del pubblico.
Dal 2005 la Band aderisce ai progetti "ANTARES" e "PUB ITALIA" per la diffusione della musica live nei Pubs dislocati su tutto il territorio Nazionale.

Nella prima puntata le registrazione Live di alcuni partecipanti alle semifinali e le interviste a Giulia Muraro, Presidente dell'Associazione Musicale Antares organizzatrice di Festival Pub Italia, ad Amalia Scilipoti, Vicepresidente ed a Franco Arcoraci ideatore e direttore artistico nazionale del Festival. Italia Ti Canto nasce da un’idea di Michele Lunella e Daniela Guerrieri nell’ottica di incentivare e promuovere la scoperta e la diffusione della tradizione musicale italiana. “ITALIA,TI CANTO…” è un format che unisce musica, cultura e tradizioni popolari in un “giro armonico” di storia, turismo e spettacolo.
