Maxx is a Minneapolis based, live performance band specializing in old school and new school funk and dance music.
Maxx was formed in 1999 by Jeffrey Craig and Curtis Jackson, two lifelong friends from Gary, IN. They've been playing in bands together since high school and have earned their doctorates of funk and soul in the "Apollo's"of Gary and Chi-Town.
Maxx has performed at many venues throughout the Twin Cities area, including Arnellia's, Soul City, Jazzmine's, JJ's Dry Dock Café, Santorini's, The Riverview Supper Club, Chi Chi's, Brubakers, Blues Alley, The Cotton Club, The Blue Nile, The Minneapolis Convention Center, and at Torge's in Austin, MN. They have also performed at the Minneapolis Urban League's Family Day events and Juneteenth, both in Minneapolis, MN; and The Frogtown Festival and Rondo Days both in St. Paul, MN.
They have been the opening act for national artists including Lenny Williams, Rose Royce, The Dazz Band, Troop, Cameo, Con Funk Shun, and for the Twin Cities' recording artist, J. Isaac; have performed at many private functions, including wedding receptions, birthday parties, family reunions, and graduation celebrations throughout the Twin Cities and Iowa; and at the Lac Vieux Desert Casino in Watersmeet, Michigan.
Maxx has quickly become one of the Twin Cities' premier and most sought after bands, delivering MAXXimum Music For MAXXimum Entertainment.
