Mayfield Collision is a force to be reckoned with. They are an avant garde electro-pop duo that originally formed in May of 2006 in the Cleveland Heights area. They are fronted by the dynamic vocalist, Jeremy Vandress (AKA Mayfield). He is a long-suffering artist who writes most of his material about falling in love on the dance-floor. Mayfield Collision is backed by Scotty J (not AKA Collision). He is an eccentric synthesizer wiz who has a penchant for dropping serious beats and programming odd noises. Their music has been described by such genres as ’Dance Punk’, ’Electro-Clash’, ’New Wave,’ and ’Shit-core’. The main focus they have when writing songs is to combine witty lyrics with strange sounds and propulsive rhythms. The end result is the freshest thing to come out of Cleveland in years.
